Zenimax, with your B2P/F2P model what are you going to do to prevent community collapse?

Leaving my F2P opinions out of it, I humbly ask the following questions. Your answers, or lack of response will determine my subscription status.

#1: Will F2P accounts be able to use Yell and Zone chat? If so, will both be limited?

#2: As F2P will attract a horde of children, illegal gold sellers and RMT spammers. Will zone chat be policed better by the support team?

#3: Will aggressive action be taken against accounts guilty of damaging the community with their RMT spam, gold selling, or other infractions?

#4: What steps are you taking with the switch to B2P/F2P to ensure the community doesn't totally disintegrate?

#5: As a Mature Adult and Family man I have no desire to play along side Children or abusive idiots. The F2P model seems to attract the worst sorts of players, whereas before ESO was mostly free of these sorts what steps are going to be taken to ensure that the M rating is maintained and children are kept away?

Thank you for your time.

One more question you should ask and that is for the imperial update do we have to pay for that dlc expansion because that was suppose to be in the game already. kinda worried :/

    Thank you for your time.
Your post seems at variance with your assertion of yourself in #5, especially points 2 and 5.

Worried is an understatement. But I wholly agree.

The game is going buy to play (B2P) not free to play (F2P). Which means the "children" still gonna have to ask there parents to buy it for them. Plus there most likely gonna go for console cause when have you ever heard of a kid having a gameing computer and perfers computer over xbox ? Kids now only care about Xbox and I-pads so if any thing all the kids are gonna be on the Xbox 1 version. Game is gonna be the same as it always has with updates, patches, and new content nothing is gonna change.

I would like to. But I really think it will end up being f2p. In fact now is gonna be freemium, like Age of Conan. I really cant trust zos anymore.

Yea... and? How many parents out there do you think there are that throw a game at their kid and then walk away. Video games are sadly the baby sitter of the 2000s.

I would prefer my own personal choice of video game NOT be one that caters to that.

Children can always go and buy the game, then buy the time cards at Gamestop. It is not the responsibility of the Game Devs to enforce their M rating, but the responsibility of the PARENTS of these children to actually engage their progeny while playing the game. If your child is under 18 years old and they don't talk to you on at least a weekly basis about anything, then there is some relationship restructuring that needs to be reconsidered.

I'm not a parent, but If I was, and watching about the infrequent horrors of suicides due to online bullying, I'd be engaged with my hypothetical child every time they access the internet. Maybe that's why I refuse to buy my parents a smartphone... I don't want them to be victims of a crime for an object they don't really need.

True but you ever heard of a child wanting a fantasy MMORPG that actually needs you to think about what you do and that they probly never heard of over call of duty ?

Not worried that very much about "children", as opposed to "adults" who are several magnitudes worse than even the most spoilt brat. And there are plenty of those around, the easier it is to join a game (e.g. F2P - no limitation in creating accounts etc) the more of them will flock.

ESO abandoning the subscription model and going B2P will probably be somewhere in the middle. Although I am sure the game can and will be purchased for far less many people had to spend in the early days, the pro trolls will probably avoid paying a single cent.

This would not stop all the gold sellers and such though, we can only hope that ZoS will still be as effective in battling them as they managed to be after the initial launch mayhem. But I won't be holding my breath either.

Well, an example of another B2P game, Guild Wars 2, it doesn't have a problem with #2 and #5. Does the RMT happen? Sure it does, but it happens very rarely now days. You more then likely will not see any change in that, except perhaps during the first few weeks after March 17th, then go back normal after that.

Totally agree, GW2 is a good comparison, as is Rift which changed to this model over 2 years ago and neither game has the toxic community being suggested by the OP .. unless you take into the account of THIS community's toxicity ;).

Why would ZOS handle it any differently from what they did when this game had the worst bot contamination in the history of MMOs .. or does your memory not reach back that far?

The bots are going to be the worst of it I think. Annoying trolls who spit on the game the whole time saying it sucked but will gladly play with the new model aside. They cleaned up the bots every well! This will just invite them back. Personally, I do NOT believe that going to B2P model will give us MORE support, but quite the opposite.

The bots disappeared almost over night way back, going B2P changes nothing to do with that.

@Plantagenet .. RIft's and LOTRO's communities didn't go the way your doom and gloom is predicting, GW2's never has been, so where's any evidence your fears have any basis in reality?
