Why 'F' and 'E'...? Why not just 'E'?

I don't understand why we need a separate key ('F') to interact with other players vs. 'E' for the environment? Am I missing something that is obvious?

    Probably because pressing E simply opens an NPC's dialogue window (or in the case of containers and such, performs a single preset action), whereas pressing F opens up a wheel of options.

    Lets say a group of players are standing idle around a book shelf or set of drawers, chest etc. You want to open chest, drawers or read the book. The only option is pressing E.......

    I'm grateful they split the two interactions. Can you imagine the frenzy trying to land your crosshairs on the banker during prime time? The separate interactions eliminate the need to sift through the players in order to locate the npc. If it was just E then you don't know if it's a player or an npc that you just engaged. Does that make sense? :smile:

    Yes, this (above) is likely the main the reason. Think of the trouble you might have trying to talk to the Daggerfall Banker, for example, if there was only one option for both. *shudders a little*
