Cyrodil losing life, is it time to bring us PVE Cyrodil?

As they are removing stuff like deer and so forth from Cyrodil, i see it slowly becoming more and more PVP oriented place instead of zone to adventure and explore... To favor PVP, would it be better to just add Cyrodil as a new PVE zone that is like Cyrodil but only without PVP. A zone where we can see and meet players of other factions, do trade and stuff like RP on Imperial city and so forth.

Why would this be good for PVP? this way they can give us living Cyrodil with all the extra life that is hitting performance(supposedly) and give PVP players a separate Cyrodil, further optimized for massive PVP..

What say you

I think it would be cool if they made Cyrodiil to be just like, well, Cyrodiil from Oblivion. Get rid of the AvA and just have a zone where players can pvp or pve. Pvp could battle for domination of the towns. Could be bad ass if done well.

I would rather have other areas of Tamriel open up. But if they make the central area common for all three sides that would be cool.

    It's Cyrodiil with double i.

PvE Cyrodiil would be a nice addition to the game.
That is if the PvE Cyrodiil grants no buffs and takes all characters of an account no matter what faction they belong to.
In this case they also could get rid of the 7- and 14-day campaigns which are totally owned by single factions.

PvE in Cyrodiil is based around the tension of a PvP environment. The quest dialogue is intentionally short and to the point so you don't spend too much time being oblivious to your environment. Cyrodiil is big enough for you to be able to avoid most enemy players. In short, Cyrodiil PvE is designed for a PvP zone.

Honestly, I wouldn't have it any other way. I'm not much of a PvPer, but I do love getting ambushed and ending up dueling people. Shame it doesn't happen as much anymore.

Answers are pretty much what i anticipated :)

Anyways, i love Curodil precisely due danger due other players might be hostile, it is a feel of realism and only place where playing has felt what ESO should have been all about from the beginning.

That said, i do not like the idea of removing various fluff from the zone to optimize for PVP. They should keep the zone as alive as possible with all the wildlife and stuff that you might expect to find from there.

Cyrodiil already has tons of PvE content. Delves, dolmens, quests, skyshards.....

    No.

But more dailies in Cyrodiil could be interesting (or any other PVE content that can turn into PVP when everyone want to do it.)

Nope, completionists who happen not to like PvP will have to risk the dangers of war to complete the Cyrodiil content and unlock the achievements. That's part of the challenge.

As others have mentioned there are better ways to introduce cross-faction interaction, such as opening up Eyevea or Coldharbor or making a new zone that is intended to allow cross-faction content. I suggested at some point that a new threat from (and zone) outside of Tamriel, another land or another plane, would be good for such purposes.

In fact, if ZOS wanted a cross-faction area...
Eyevea and Coldharbor would be ideal since they are supposed to be populated by members of all three factions studying and fighting together with the blessings of the leadership of all three Alliances.

I assumed based on the quest lines content for Mages Guild (leading to Eyevea) and the basic Alliance storyline (leading to Coldharbor) that they would be cross-faction until I actually got there. Craglorn also makes sense for cross-faction. I am guessing that the Alliance specific phasing for various zones might have something to do with having to many players in the same phase at once. That's why I figured a new zone with different "campaigns" like Cyro but with a cross-faction threat might work better.

PvP needs to be fixed, but making a doppleganger zone isn't the solution.

It's a netcode problem, not Bambi and friends. Maybe they should abandon their megaserver concept and turn every keep into its own little shard with a limit of maybe 50 players from each side at a time; then their current netcode might be able to handle the workload.

Must recognize the effort, this time it's no longer "QQ, we want PVE Cyrodill, QQ, we don't want to be killed by mean PVPers while we quest and recover skyshards".

They do need to fix performance in PVP.

    But still, NO.

Which is why it is best to group up before hand. And I have seen advertisements in zone for PvE groups, even joined one such group to help them out.

Are they modifying the AOE cap in 1.6? That will bring much better gameplay back into Cyrodiil.

Not even a PvE lover like me thinks this could be a good idea...

Sure, I like doing PvE dailies in cyrodil whenever I need some extra expees. But I love the feeling of danger I get while doing it because some smurf or chicken -could- pop up and stomp me... which occasionally happens.

And whenever I am in cyrodil, if there is a good siege going on, I always have the choice to stop by for a looksee, if its still going on by the time I get there, yay, join in, do some damage, respawn, curse dragonknights, and ride towards the fray again. ;)

What _I_ would want it opening up more of the cyrodil we knew in oblivion for ESO... colovian highlands to gold coast, nibenay to blackwood... perhaps even as mixed PvE/PvP regions, with a questline and dailies around the PvP...
    ...maybe some future expansion... :)

    Yes...

"The first six targets will take full damage and be subjected to special effects imposed by the skill like crowd control or debuffs. The next 16 targets, 7-24 will take half damage, and remaining targets up to a maximum of 60 will take 25% of the original damage."
