Why are most threads in this forum just excuses for losing?

Now dont take that the wrong way, as it is nothing against anyone in particular, nor is it a slam again any specific thing besides the culture of the board.

Why are most of the threads the following three topics, in different formats?

1. X is OP, Plz nerf
2. Team "color of the day" is cheating/working together/exploiting/poopooed on my doorstep
3. I dont like what that player does so it should be banned from game forever

Pretty much any of the above three stem from a death or so in game, usually involving confusion about mechanics or just plain ignorance thereof, refusal to adapt, sour grapes, grudges, i told you so, haha look at me oneupsmanship, etc etc

One thing I dont hear very often is the simple truth. "I got outplayed, I guess I need to work on my skills/morphs/build/reflexes/knowledge/strategy more, gg"

It is always an excuse or passing of blame to whatever seems convenient at the time.

So tell me, why is it so rampant here? Id really like to know.

I can only tell of my direct experience. As a member of a large group set to recapture a scroll, one member of the group, a former emperor, grabs the scroll then runs it to the enemy factions gate and gets killed by the waiting enemy players who then take the scroll from the dead body, of note, the enemy faction players that took the scroll were comprised of many former emperors, by their title.
But, i guess that's just an excuse for loosing.
One bunch of players within a specific guild seems to have tainted the game play for many of us.

1. We are humans we always complained all the time especially on forums.
2. Sometimes skills are actually really need to be fix or at least look at to make sure it is not exploitable .
3. Forums are made for discussions about the game. So people like to talk about what is obvious wrong to them.
4. This is the official forums so if a person complain about a problem the company will be able to see it.
5. Some people actually want their questions answer on the forums.
6. Some people are bored so they actually post something that would obviously attract many people to their post.
7. Some people would like to provide feedback to ZOS to improve the game.

Here are some of the reasons.

Hurt egos (1-3), being selective with the truth (2), violation of personal preferences about what the game should be like (1,3). In short, frustration.

Mind you, some of it is justified IMHO. Build balance remains a legitimate issue as long as high level decisions like race, class, weapon type, armor type, vampire/werewolf or not make or break a character. Specifically to PvP there's also group behaviour that every sensible person will understand was never intended. Infiltrating the enemy and chainpulling your friends into their keeps or running off with their scrolls is a good example. Of course it immediately becomes ridiculous the moment someone claims it's all the fault of a specific faction.

Because I am a demi god and if someone is able to best me in a fight they are either exploiting, using a grossly overpowered skill, or a combination of them both.

People who are happy with game generally dont post on forums. Only egos and whiners, and typically not constructive. I.e. This post.

You have to ask? I was told I could play any way I want. Well, I play like crap. Just to emphasize how unbalanced this game is, I'm constantly getting killed. What's up with that? It's just not fair. I deserve to be emperor and you should all bring the scrolls and lay them at my feet in honor of my awesome greatness.

I know this wasn't helpful or constructive, but I am stuck at work for 3 more hours.

I have to agree with the hurt egos suggestion. It's not just the forums. Hate tells and excuses in Cyrodill are worse than the lag sometimes.

human nature. only those that aren't happy traditionally feel the need to complain on the forums. those that are content or for the most part have nothing to complain about, have no need to vent on the forums. we live in a self entitled society, and a lot of the complaining is from a combination of lazy, self entitled, or unskilled players who blame their lack of success on what must OBVIOUSLY be flaws with the game or other players. yes there are issues, and game balances that need to be dealt with. there will always be cheaters and an MMO is a constantly evolving process to maintain balance but a lot of the crying is just that, crying.

The bored but unable to access the game because <insert reason here> but can access the forum crowd are on the forums also....I think these are more productive and helpful because they are not raging.

My speculation is that instead, it's people that are more interested in investing their time in trying to improve their situation through control or influence vs. getting enjoyment from challenge. This is a spectrum of sorts vs. either or, of course. It could be as simple as someone that enjoys seeing the churn in forums more than playing the game. Have you noticed some people are aaaalll over these forums all day long rather than playing the game or at least they're focus is unique. Who knows really.

IMO, It takes all types to make the world go around and I'd personally not change a thing as doing so would take away our free will or the perception of it, depending upon your perspective.

Because people think everything is OP/cheating.
