Zenimax on AoE Caps?

I see people talking about AoE caps and wanting it to be removed, is there any word from ZoS? I hear that there is supposed to be some sort of "fix", but not sure when it will ever be implemented.

Also, what was the initial problem with AoE that brought in caps? Currently I see no downside.

they will increase them and give them diminishing returns... so the first 6 targets get full damage but then it gets weaker

Why not just have an inner area that deals more and an outer ring dealing less? So explosions are locational.

this will worsen the lag, not improve it. smh.
