PVPers vs PVEers (NA server)

For too long there has only been one laggy campaign for us PVPers to play. For too long have we had to bend over backwards to maintain buff servers. For too long zeni has passed us up in order to make improvements to PVE while passing the imperial city off to the "next patch." For too long have PVEers tried to scare us from playing on "their" buff servers.

Not any longer.

This past week I have had more fun playing PVP in lag free campaigns like Haderus, Azura's Star, and Chilrend. I have taken and give buffs (in the same campaign!), I have made PVEers whine, I have had fun.

To my fellow PVPers who don't give a damn about PVE do not be scared by their crying! Continue to fight in ALL campains because WE PAY FOR THIS GAME TOO. Next time a PVEer cries about taking away their buffs remind them that they do not have the rite to take away your PVP camaign. Remind them that you do not care.

It's time for us PVPers to stand up for ourselves. It's time to ruin all buff servers.

People actually complain about not having the pvp buffs while in pve? I hardly pvp, and I see those buffs as a nice bonus, not a necessity.

The players who cry about their buff server getting messed up are the min/maxers who think that 2% is going to make a huge difference. Buffs outside of Cyrodiil should be removed entirely. Once you enter Cyrodiil, you get the buffs. Once you leave Cyrodiil and enter a PvE zone, the buffs go bye bye. Simple.

I don't pvp much at all. I do like the buffs that we get in PVE but I want the buffs eliminated. Don't get me wrong they are nice to have but they serve no purpose. I am sure they were implemented as a means to get people to into PVP campaigns but all it has done is get groups in there to defend a buff server. It was a good idea that has been bastardized and it has completely choked off PVP and limited it to 1 active campaign
"it's important to state that our decision to go with subscriptions is not a referendum on online game revenue models. F2P, B2P, etc. are valid, proven business models - but subscription is the one that fits ESO the best, given our commitment to freedom of gameplay, quality and long-term content delivery. Plus, players will appreciate not having to worry about being "monetized" in the middle of playing the game, which is definitely a problem that is cropping up more and more in online gaming these days." - Matt Firor

Removing the PvP gained buffs in PvE is a good choice. And lol at the players who nerd rage when they don't have said buffs to do Trials or Vet DSA with. I mean, I doubt it would make a difference of 30 seconds in an AA or HR speed run without Cyro buffs.

    1) It shouldn't make a difference.
    2) It basically doesn't.
    3) I wouldn't care if it did.

It's good to have a carrot out there to draw new players into cyrodiil and keep it lively and fresh. I think the PvE buffs provide a really strong incentive for that, the only problem is that it's too easy to achieve without effort via buff servers.

We have 2 problems right now in PvP. Too many people on thornblade causing lag, and buff servers that are demoralizing to play on. Standing beside that is a hidden and vast population of players who only play to secure their buffs, which go largely uncontested. They are almost exclusively MIA but show up en masse when their buffs are challenged.

I think a good solution would be to make the PvE buffs based on total Alliance success rather than individual campaign success. This makes every campaign valid and necessary for success. It means that people will distribute their populations across all 4 campaigns as needed.

There are two groups of people in Cyrodiil. Those who are there for PvP and those who are there for PvE. The PvE crowd is invisible and only shows up when their buffs are in peril. Then there is the PvP crowd that mostly remains in Thornblade with a dwindling population.

The PvE crowd is content to remain uninvolved with Cyrodiil so long as their buffs are intact. When they are threatened they emerge in bulk and disappear after their buffs are secure. They can remain mostly inactive because they are mostly uncontested. However once the buffs are based on total Alliance success all former buff servers will become contested. The PvE population will have to maintain their presence to secure their buffs. Meanwhile the PvP crowd can redistribute into less laggy servers.

So here is what we would get with this set up.
    • All servers are valid and necessary for Alliance success
    • The PVP population redistributes themselves as necessary to secure all campaigns reducing the lag on Thornblade
    • The hidden, unaffiliated PvE crowd now has to remain present across all campaigns to preserve their buffs which will inflate the total PvP population and increase the action across all campaigns
    • Each Alliance has to work together as a real alliance for success rather than individual multiworld alliances.
    • Lag on Thornblade is alleviated until a real fix is released
    • With all campaigns now contested buff servers will no longer exist.

TL/DR Make PvE buffs based on total alliance success and solve a multitude of problems in pvp, including buff servers, while enhancing pvp as well.

I think the buffs a person receives from Cyrodiil should correlate with their reward tier level. This way they will continually have to not only visit Cyrodiil, but actually participate there, which seems like the whole point of having PvP buffs in PvE. To get people who have never participated in PvP to try it out. As it is they don't have to try anything. A few days after I started playing someone told how to home on Haderus, and I immediately had all these buffs. It was months before I ever killed another player.

I think it would also help if we eliminated one campaign. Preferably Azura's since it's 30 day and redundant. Or Thorn, because *** that place. With only three campaigns it could be possible for each alliance to attempt to hold a buff server, but they will fail. No matter what there will always be at least one competitive campaign, which means one alliance, hopefully the one with the highest pop, will be left out in the cold, buffless night. If they can't have a buff server, they won't let anyone else have one either.

My only complaint as a PvEr is in the surprise that red seems to have the dominating presence. Looks like they mostly hold their buff campaign, Thorblade, take Haderus over and hold it more than AD now (and I don't know what else they play in). I don't care if I do or do not have buffs, but if red players have that population to hold all that over AD and DC, then I'm mostly just amazed at how little pvpers AD and DC have.

There has been a huge drop off in PvP participation in Thronblade by AD for the last month or so. It seems to have started when the lag got ridiculous and when a ton of people (and a few guilds) listened to the QQing and switched to EP. There used to be an AD queue of 100+ for Thornblade during so-called "prime time" (early evening West US time zone for me) but now the queue is often below 10.

I am a PvE player, and have barely dabbled in PvP. I love the buff server. It was in jeapordy the other day.. So you know what I did? I went into Cyrodiil and helped! I am a PvE player who loves buffs, but hey, if we want to keep those buffs, we need to work on keeping them. I agree PvP players should be able to play on any campaign they want. If PvE wants the buffs bad enough, they'll learn how to fight. :)

@MiyaTheUnbroken‌ Great Idea. This would solve a lot. I actually have to run dungeons and undaunted dailies to get undaunted skills. passives and gear that might give me advantage in PvP.

PvE'ers should have to fight in cyro till at least reward tier 3 to get advantages that would help them in PvE.

Makes sense. But if PvE'rs all complained at once and told ZOS to delete cyrodill completely they might do it. PvE'rs are much better at the QQ game.
