Only thing I want to know about the final Champion System

Once the final phase of the Champion system is implemented, will Veteran Ranks disappear completely and everyone VR1+ will revert back to level 50, each player with a varying number of Champion Points dependent upon their VR rank at the time of the final implementation? If that is what will actually occur, then gear and content in the future can easily be scaled and can then be gated by requiring X number of CPs in order to equip gear, trials designed for players with Y number of CPs, etc.

For example, VR1 gear could require Level 50 with 30 CPs to equip while VR14 gear could require a level 50 with 160 CPs to equip. Requiring an extremely higher CP value to equip the end game gear ensures the VR14 players who have grinded for epic and legendary gear would still have significantly better gear than a fresh level 50. In the future when new endgame content is added with tougher encounters and better gear rewards, it could require a quantity of along the lines of 200+ CPs.

Such a system would also be very alt friendly. Instead of having to grind VR ranks 1-14 every time for all of your alt characters you would just have to get them to 50 and then they would essentially be comparable in ability to your main in terms of CPs.

I like the idea. It's a more controlled method than the alternative I was thinking they would follow. The specific alternative I thought that they may be implementing was to place gear upgrades on the various champion constellations in order to enforce making choices.
Oooh look, lot's of Butterflies! Wait! Butterflies? Get out of here Sheo, stop bugging me!

Yes I like this idea very much. I'm eager to not be able to equip my current gear because I don't have enough champion points. :frowning:

Do you even read what you write?

What is the final stage of this Champ system? Hit lv50 and then you're at end game (trials/competitive pvp), with just champ points and skill points to earn to further character progression? Making Cadwell's optional just for the xp gain/skyshards?

If gear requires a set CP amount, then its effectively the same as levels once again. They have already said that gear will be seasonal with the previous seasons gear buyable for in game currency.

Essentially all gear will have only a requirement of level 50. The current seasons gear will only be available from defeating the current highest tier content.

Adding a cp requirement says that you must play at max level for XX amount of hours before you can try the current end game content, that's exactly what they are trying to avoid.

What makes you think I suggested you wouldn't be able to equip your current gear?
