Until now it was By the Nine for turning off those annoying unwanted and unbidden notifications. Saw this one, though, that takes it a step further. Now if we could turn off those quest chevrons in major towns that clutter your HUD with crafting quests...

This addon allows you to block or redirect unwanted messages and notifications to the chat.

Currently supported features are:
AvA centerscreen anouncements outside of AvA world (scrolls, emperor, etc.)
Friend status messages in chat - [@username] has logged on with [character]
"Target immune" alerts - Flying creatures are immune to snares. / This target is too powerful for that effect.
RaidScore Notifications - Your guild mates completed <raidname> with a time of <time>.

I'd love to be able to get rid of the screenshot confirmation message, the one that is printed on the upper/right corner of the screen

Justification: I like to take a screenie of the hireling messages before deleting the mails, and I need to wait a few secs before taking the next one, so the message clear up first

You can bind a key to turn off the UI. I use that for screeners.

I meant for screenshots in which you need the UI visible, like the example I gave.

As in, I need the UI visible to be able to capture the Hirelings mails contents.

horrible idea, and here's why.
i love the ability to be able to do this, but add-ons like this do nothing more then to teach eso corporate office that they do NOT need to remove the messages from the game and things that annoy us in the extreme because the modd / add-on community fixes it for free instead of zenimax employees. Thus, we find more and more and more very annoying things in the game that will not ever be fixed

It's not that we can't learn, I did in a short period of time. It's the fact that we have to do this extra step for no benefit at all.

If you add this line to the addon code, you will never see the screenshot confirmation message again:

ZO_PreHook(ZO_AlertText_GetHandlers(), EVENT_SCREENSHOT_SAVED, function() return true end)

If more people says that it is useful, I'll consider adding it to the addon.

Maybe as an Option. While I have confidence the Screen Shot is going to be taken, I like to know exactly when it was taken if something is moving around on the screen. Helps with composition.

BTW, I'm using Photographer which, as one of its secondary features, it prints the "screenshot saved to..." message to the chat, making the original HUD message redundant in the end.

1) There are some people who may well be interested in these messages so to "remove the messages from the game" is unlikely to be a correct permanent fix and so will end up being yet another toggleable option.

2) I can't imagine that the UI is just sitting around on their backsides and if they are then I would prefer them to be working on far more fundamental issues (such as the potion wheel, inventory view and lack of filters) rather than which messages we would or would not prefer to see.

WHat?!?! That's like a whole split second of my life that I'll miss out on because... nah just kidding, if I cared that much about wasted time spent pressing keys, I probably wouldn't be playing an MMO in the first place.

That's because it isn't exexexex.... it's exeexeexeexeexeex....because you have to take the inventory, hit x, then confirm with e, then use e to get inventory...

For some reason I'm still getting those tedious "no effect" bleed messages on skeleton baddies when whacking them with axes. In this case dual wield axes. Yeah, I get it....can't bleed when there's no blood in 'em.

I still can't figure the motive for that message....what, am I going to switch to daggers or swords? But I digress...

Oops....just noticed Garkin that getting rid of those "they don't bleed" spams was not among the stated features. Could you nix those as well in a future release?

As another player noted, you have a long (as long as the game has been around) and distinguished record with creating keenly useful add-ons. I'll be expressing my appreciation in more than words

I find that comfirmation necessary. You are deleting something, after all.

If you want to add it by yourself before the next version will be released change line 89 from:

return (errorStringId == 162) or (errorStringId == 177)

to:

return (errorStringId == 162) or (errorStringId == 176) or (errorStringId == 177)

This addon does not handle chat spam. There are other addons for this, for example Got My Five or SpamBayes.

I don't believe how much crap I'm getting over requesting that he add a "no delete confirmation" option.

First of all, (IMHO) it is entirely unnecessary, since you already can't delete emails with attachments -- it's literally impossible. The only emails you can delete are text-only emails that are left after you remove the attachment. And since the game severely limits how many you can keep (I think it's only 30?)? You pretty much need to delete them anyway. And let's face it... they are virtually all useless anyway. The confirmation is stupid and unnecessary.

Second, as someone else already pointed out, when you are getting 40 emails every 12 hours, having to press "exeexeexeexeexeexeexeexeexeexe" takes half-again as long as pressing "exexexexexexexexexex" as well as being harder to do, since it's not as simple as just alternating keys. I actually find myself just hitting "exexexexexex" anyway, (where the second "x" does nothing) because I can actually spam it faster than "exeexeexe" -- but I'm now typing twice as much as I should have to.

If anyone really needs to have the extra "are you sure" box there to prevent them from deleting some super-critical email they want to keep for all of posterity, that's fine. Leave the silly confirmation in there. For the rest of us, it would be really nice to have an option to remove it.

I have just uploaded new version (v0.8) which has both items implemented.

v0.8
- added option to block screenshot saved alert
- added 'This target is immune to bleeding effects.' to the list in 'Block "target immune" alerts' option.
- bug fix: reset to default button in settings menu should now work correctly
