Id even like a quest involved with betraying your faction. My AD main would love to change allegiance to the Pact.
Edit: Razum'dar falls to his knees and gives up chase as he gets locked behind a portcullis, helpless as he watches my character and Naryu Virian cut down the few Dominion between us and our escape - knowing the information I have could cost Dominion lives. Make it happen ZOS.

I don't want to change my faction, ever, but that doesn't mean I want to stop others.
But there isn't an option for that.

Sure there is. Just choose the silly sweetrolls option and then state your opinion here. But really, you DO want to have faction changes available even if you don't plan to personally use them. So you are for, not against.

Ok, I guess I was reading to much into "do you want to be able to change faction".
I think this could be interesting from a RP point of view if it became a one-off option after completing Cadwell's Gold. By then you have run through the quests for each of the alliances and by doing so, may agree more with the point of view of a different alliance to your home alliance. Isn't that, after all, the RP reason for doing the other alliance quests? To see things from their perspective.
Although, no longer being able to group with most of my guild would make me hesitate in taking such an opportunity.
To play with friends, for example. Because I have characters in each faction, I ended up in guilds that are primarily in different factions than my main. It was okay as long as I still had friends in AD, but most of them left at one point and I was stranded for a while. It worked out in the end, but I can see why people would like to group in another faction. Why change your faction? So you can chase the Buffs from the PvP areas? Other than that there is no reason to change as we experience all the factions anyway.

Sure. But we don't have cross-faction grouping and we may never get it, so we can discuss other options too. Btw, it still wouldn't allow you to play with your friends in Cyrodiil, so it isn't a perfect solution.

People want to change their hairstyle, change their race, change their class, and now change their faction.
Wouldn't it just be easier to roll another character?

Riddle me this, where would you end up after you changed your faction? See my post above yours as to what I am thinking.

If the betrayal quest became available after Cadwell gold no questlines would have to be altered at all. All quest progress would remain the same, you would just be in a different instance of the zone.

And if you make the change in Zone 3 or 4 or 5?If the betrayal quest became available after Cadwell gold no questlines would have to be altered at all. All quest progress would remain the same, you would just be in a different instance of the zone.
That is the only time this could occur if they ever implemented it, is after completion of Caldwells Gold. Then how would they handle the quests you missed doing Silver and Gold? What level would they assign them? Silver or Gold levels?
This is one of those things that sounds so simple but falls apart once you start to think it through.
