Combat stops responding

This has been happening to me all morning and just started having this issue. I was in Grahtwood, just north of Elden Root fighting daedra when several times my character stopped responding to attacks, all I could do was block. If I die and revive it works again, if I reloadui in the middle of combat it works again, but thats not how its meant to work.

Do you happen to have any add ons installed? If so, please give a try to disabling them and let us know if the issue persists.

This is part of multiple bugs that are all similar. It could be addons, but it is likely just a bug that hasnt been fixed. For me, i reported a bug back in August where i could not perform any combat actions but block if i where to type in the chat box and then click back into the game. I hardly type in chat anymore because of it.

Theres also the one where if you use your map and return to game, youll still have the map pointer instead of the game reticle and be unable to do combat. Possible addon....possibly game.

Many more like your and mine exist...

Had this big time this morning. I finally threw my hands up and logged off. I can use my destro staff and five seconds later it hits the target and they react. That was bad but when I took on a dolmen and had ZERO response from my skills....that was enough! Nothing worked, ESC, switching weapons, reloading UI, etc. You can't just block your way through a dolmen. This "bug" has been around forever and is only getting worse.

Yes the enemies were still moving and attacking me. No I don't use addons. My latency and FPS were normal. I tried two characters, one uses restro/destro staffs and the other is a NB using swords and bow. Same results......

I've had a few very brief experiences along these lines.

I have always felt the culprit was a big spike in lag or some other form of network congestion.

Its not the addons. Its a hit or miss issue.

I dont know whats going on but this game is just whacky on its own accord day to day. I havent had this issue happen again, but now i cant target enemies behind dead bodies, mobs seem to attract to me from further distances, and enemies respawn in like one minute sometimes right behind me. Ive about had it.

Same issue happening to me the past couple of days. Suddenly can't attack or switch weapons, but can block, sheathe and unsheathe weapon, and even interact with resource nodes. Ability to attack and use abilities just seems to randomly come back a few seconds to a couple of minutes later. /reloadui doesn't seem to be a reliable fix. This issue is occurring every 5-10 minutes at this point.

I even got it right after a fresh login back to Cyrodiil - I didn't even do anything except exiting a postern door.

Same happens today, we were doing Blessed Crucible, while i was in dunge all laging like crazy, skills working only few seconds after, same with swaping etc, when i exited dunge everything come to norm again=\

this really needs to be fixed it not add-on problem because i have all add-on disabled and it still happens it really blows when your in trial and all you can do is move around and watch your friends attack while you can't do anything

So Zenimax....since its ruled that addons arent the problem, whats the situation? Something that needs to be looked at? Is it an issue to be fixed soon?

I don't run any addons, never have so that isn't the issue for me. My NB lvl 43 is having a horrible time fighting. Out of no where combat just stops. It again seems to be tied to an enemy running into your character, well for me anyway. Like a tiger or a group of enemies come at you and one of them is standing inside of your character. After that I can't fight even though I move away and don't have any enemy around me. So I have to try and keep my distance and not let anything run into me in combat. Yeah fun and good luck with that at a Dolmen or dungeon.

Still having this problem, multiple characters. Have we heard anything about how to fix this or if there is an official fix coming?

Hey there folks,

Thanks for the feedback on this one. It seems a bit all over the place, so we'll have to take a more in-depth look. From what we've gathered so far in this topic;

• It's random, and not specific to a certain time
• It is not tied to an event or area (happens in dungeons, Cyrodiil, etc)
• It is not tied to add ons, as many folks have disabled them with no success
• /reloadui does not seem to fix it
• A load screen consistently fixes it (re-log, change area, etc)

From the criteria, it's a pretty broad issue that will need some additional investigation. If you haven't already, please contact customer support with a game consultant log attached. This will contain some additional information that will assist our developers with pinning down the problem. In the meantime, CS will have some individualized suggestions that may assist you with the issue.
