PVP players FORCED to play PVE? (bad PVP rewards high repair costs etc....

I feel kinda forced to play PVE in this game.
Why?

1: I am losing gold to buy soulgems ( i need to revive ppl and the filled gems are 3.6K which is expensive.

2: I need to repair my armor this is not cheap at all if you play a lot of PvP.

3: If you want some decent gear but you have no gold you need to do trials to get some decent gear. (Yes the PVP gear sucks COMPARED to the PVE gear.

I play only PVP atm but my reserves are just melting away i had around 200K gold now i just have around 50K left.

Not even mentioning if you level a new character and you need a light horse for that one....

so PLEASE give GOLD/AP instead of the gear we get now it sucks to get spammed with mails......

Please share your thoughts about this...

You get money from the rewards for the worthy. I find this more than enough to pay for soul gems and food. Armor is not damaged in PvP to any significant degree. It shouldn't be at all, but I find a 1-3 gold repair bill after several days of hard pvp. ( bug maybe) I actually make money (even meager) doing nothing at all, whatsoever, than pvp... Just saying.

1. Buy empty gems and fill them. Only costs two skill points for maximum efficiency and you can then sell some of them for a small profit
2. As mentioned, armour does not degrade from PvP. It does degrade from PvE but the income from selling loot is more than the repair costs (e.g. I can make 3k profit after farming zombies, repairing and selling loot)
3. Good gear is subjective based on what you want to do in PvP. Some roles or builds only use crafted sets, others make use of relatively common drops that cost around 10k for a whole set. I'd recommend reading up on what each set does and deciding on what you want to do, then buying that set and sticking to it.

The new undaunted stuff (PvE things) come with random traits, impen included.
It just took me around 20 runs to gain the head I need and after more than enough veteran pledges I still missing the shoulder.
You think that's funny? As a full time PvP player going into dungeons?
I would love these dungeons if they're as hard as sanctum but they're far too easy.
Same for the Sanctum Medium set with two 5 set boni, you gain nothing comparable in PvP.

PvP sets are mostly crap, not all, but the most.

While there are many faults with the OP's post there is an underlying situation he's identifying.

1) The cost of rezing has increased since the last patch. Period. Whichever way you procure your soul gems it's not as cost efficient as a 20-rez FC at 7.2k AP. If you buy filled gems that's 2 rezes for 7.2k AP, whereas you could get 20 before with an FC. That's a 10x cost increase in rezing.

2) The lack of FCs means smaller sieges, which means fewer and smaller defticks, which means less AP/h than before and less gold. Almost everyone I speak to reports getting approx. half the AP/h rate they achieved pre-patch, over a full evening's action.

So the cost of rezing has increased tenfold while the AP & gold generation seems to have been halved (on average).

That said the removal of FCs is temporary as confirmed by Wheeler. So maybe things will change again soon.

Also consider that this reduced AP generation and retention might actually be somewhat intentional, judging by some comments he made in the past about many players having millions of AP stored up in their accounts.

You need pve sets. Wether looted or crafted but both come with high cost (buying price and/or upgrading them)

I spend hours playing in PvP and have never needed to repair my armor fighting against other players. The exception is taking damage from the mobs in Cyrodiil which I just stay away from. However, I do go thru a lot of Pots. As far as soul gems buy them from players. 100 filled Soul Gems run about 13k to 15k or as it has been suggested in other posts buy empty soul gems and fill them.

People have 7-8 figures worth of AP saved because there is nothing significant to purchase with them. For that matter, why are the PVP gear sets so limited in the pieces they offer that it is exceptionally difficult to mix and match sets, especially with regard to jewelry?

Of course, it would be a typical ZOS decision to solve the "problem" of AP hoarding by reducing the average rate of AP gained for most players. The real solution is right in front of them if they wanted to implement it.

The OP is being overly dramatic, but there are some relevant issues.

1. Soulgems need to be more easily accessible now that there are no more FCs. Especially to PvPers. Soul gems are a dime a dozen running dungeons. It is rare you get a gem in the mail.

2. I think the OP means "while I am being forced to PvE." Game needs a goldsink because PvEing is potentially very profitable.

3. While I agree the "rewards for the worthy" should be renamed "unworthy rewards that clog my mailbox," I do think it is healthy that PvPers have an incentive to do an occasional dungeon (and ideally PvErs should likewise have an incentive to step into Cyrodiil.

In an ideal world, there would OCCASIONALLY be something useful in these reward mails just as there is occasionally something useful for a dungeon drop. And I think PvP "good" gear should be different but competitive with PvE "good" gear.

How to fill empty grand soul gems quickly:

1. Acquire empty soul gems (115g each)
2. Find a sandy beach in any Cadwell's silver or gold alliance.
3. Use soul trap on mudcrabs till gems are filled. For improved speed, morph soul trap to soul splitting trap once you use it enough.

The starter areas tend to be pretty good for this sort of thing, i.e. Khenarthi's roost if you are EP or DC. Lots of vet level mudcrabs for you guys there. For AD I would recommend Stros M'kai.

If you're V14 surely you had to play some PVE at some point, right? I couldn't imagine getting to such a level and having enough skill points without it. But I started off full PVE and didn't try PVP until I was well into Cadwell's Gold, so my experience (and my 200+ skill points) seems to be different from many people.

The daily Enchanting writ almost always rewards 2-3 empty soul gems upon completion.

The VR1 mudcrabs in Bleakrock Isle, Khenarthi's Roost and Stros M'Kai are ideal for filling soul gems quickly due to their numbers and low HP. The numerous wolves or cave dwellers in Cyrodiil also make easy soul gem fillers if you don't feel like leaving your campaign.

I don't like the idea of forcing pvp players to pve any more than I like seeing anything else being forced. I'm mostly pve myself.

Uh....you must be doing something wrong - PvP doesn't damage gear that much at all. After a 4-5 hour PvP session I'll maybe have a repair bill of 150 gold at most.

The 150 you pay is probably from fighting the NPC guards around the Keeps.

Gear might be damaged when a player dies due to fall damage in Cyrodiil, have not checked that.

Repair costs in PvP are negligible to non-existant on the whole though.

Actually i do i spend all my AP on siege equipment because some people in your group dont have any and if you want to take a keep down quick this last minute can be vital.
I use my gold for the soulgems/ stone repair kits.
Why? If i lead a random group almost no one is really repairing only in guild raids etc.

I've never had a problem with needing to PVE so I can do the shreking. Shards I get from rewards de la worth, gold I have from potions, potions I have from picking up herbs while we march and farming whenever lagblade is too laggy. I only spend a few hours outside of cyrodiil a week, if that bothers you too much, then pooper for ya.

It's actually PvE players who are forced to do PvP, because those buffs from Cyrodiil are too strong not to have them.

I've done nothing but PVP in the last 45 days. During that time I've bought hundreds of tri pots and yet I have still made a profit of 200k gold. You don't need to repair your gear, you don't need to buy soul gems. Just play with people who don't die often.

the filled gems cost 3.6K AP, not gold. the emtpy ones cost a tiny 121 gold, and if you use the morph of soul trap that traps two souls at once(which can be obtained in only 5 minutes if you have made it to vet content and never really used it) you can fill those gems VERY quickely. 100 gems will cost you 12,100(hope my math was right) gold. if you use up all 100 gems in just a few days..... then you need to encourage your compatriates to stop joining Sithis in the void so much. He can only welcome so many souls at a time!!!!!

Be an elitist if you have to!!! if someone repeatidly charges into the breach and dies over and over and over again, DO NOT rez them. make them learn form their mistake. This will not only make them better at the game, but it will save you a gem then, and possibly gems in the future.

now for the potions....... Those may present a problem. If you are someone who charges the front lines, you will burn through a stack quickely.

i advise selling all the stuff you get in the alliance war mails: and selling off any mats you do not use. other than that, you will have to seek out someone that manages gold better than me for better help. You will be happy to know that armor very slowly(if at all) degrades when damaged/killed by other players. if you only do the PvP part of cyrodill, you should not need to repair your gear for a VERY long time

and the gear? it depends on the person.

idk how good the trial gear is, or what it may do. i have never run a trial(my stamina build would make it a bit too hard for me) However, you really dont need that fancy trial gear to do well in PvP. Many people do pretty well in sets like nights silence and warlock/seducer. You dont need to beat the hardest PvE stuff just to have good PvP gear.

I agree, PvP sets could be a bit better, but you dont need to beat trials to get good gear. just find a set that works well for you and stick with it.

at high vet ranks, you get about 60 gold per aliance war bag, and you can sell the items you get in them for a good 40-100 gold each. so in 10 bags thats already 1K gold, plus anything you pawned off in guild stores that may be worth some good coin. potions stacks are about 10K gold. you go do PvE, save up and accumulate your 200K, then conserve and spend your money wisely, you should be good for quite some time.

now, once you eventually run out of your stash, you may run across problems. same thign happened to me.

i just sold alot of the crap i got from the alliance war bags, sold legendary and epic mats i got from slaves... er.. i mean hirlings(:D) and did the bounty quests when they appeared. i got 10K quite a few times(my mistake was i never bought the potion stacks. lol. i was PvE crazy at the time)

Imo there are only two/theee things that you need to dump gold on in ESO and it's impossible to farm in PvP which hopefully will be fixed in imperial city? But potions/Food and Sets will make you go from 100k+ to scrambling around through your mails selling reward of the worthy items because you only have 200 gold and need 10k to buy panceas of health and honey brittle.
Another problem is I feel forced to do group dungeons now so I can be competetive in PvP due to the new sets.

I understand that farming mats is boring and not for everyone. But if you have this much of a problem with gold, then maybe look at the possibility to take half an hour or an hour and farm at least pot mats. For a stack of tri-pots you need one friendly alchemist, 25 columbine, 25 mountain flowers, 25 bugloss and 25 cloud mist.

Go into the intermediate vet zones (*cough*alik'r*cough*) and/or lower craglorn, run in circles for a while and pick them. Done at the right time, an hour of farming will give you one stack with enough other herbs to sell off (lady's smock for those spell crit/damage pots for example) so you don't spend the 10k for the stack and even earn some spending money for your food.

Yes, a stack is burned pretty quickly, but it will last you for one or two days of pvp. Try it. I do it maybe once or twice a week. I am never out of potions (and my stash is usually 100 tri pots, 100 spell dam pots, 100 weapon dam pots and 100 hp/detection/immovable pots) and I never ever bought any.
