Yes, I know. There have been a million of them, but unfortunately, even with the changes, it still needs work. @ZOS_GinaBruno
So, I am asked to heal for 3 of my friends as they do the crypt pledge with my v8 templar. The leader is V14 (and new to tanking, as was one of the dps, so not as easy run), which makes the dungeon it's normal V12. I realize that I'm 6 levels apart from them (and 4 from dungeon), but I got about 500 xp from entire dungeon run (all bosses, etc.) and zero loot (expecting to get v8 stuff).
Now, let's leave out the players that want to show up and talk about how easy this or that dungeon is and leave it to the devs - next stream, How about you guys 3 man crypt of hearts vet12 with no healer (as in NO healer, no off healer bar on a guy, etc) and see how well you do. OR, take a v8 healer and let him tell you if he has to work his butt off healing you as you do hard mode. Then, after you fail countless times, come and tell me I don't deserve any xp or loot from being part of a 4 man team running a v12 dungeon.
At this rate, this week my v8 has gone from like 35% to 75% after questing all week. (And yea, I know how to level a guy besides grinding). So, I'm not getting much xp dragging through quests for the tenth time and now I find out I don't earn xp doing what I actually enjoy, which is running dungeons, because my friends are too high level.
I get the whole desire to stop people carrying someone through a dungeon run, but that's not the only thing your xp change is effecting. If it is based on damage contribution, then it's a broken concept - as a healer my only contribution to damage was heavy attacks to regen and throwing shards occasionally. But if this is "working as intended" then your intentions need adjustment IMO.

Although the fact that there was 6 levels of difference between you and the dungeon leader might have also made a difference,
Yea, I know they mentioned something about being more than 4 levels apart from the others in the group - but this isn't a grind group of 12 people running around craglorn - this was a 4 man run where everyone has to carry their weight. I was mostly getting at, if this was intentional, then it's dumb.

Unfortunately, it's really not that easy to develop a system that "intelligently" determines whether you're being carried or whether you're an integral part of the group. So they have to go with the simplest way possible: are you at least within a few levels of your groupmates?----

Valymer✭✭✭✭✭I mean, if three VR14s actually want to spend their time carrying a character of lower level through a VR12-scaled dungeon, who cares? It isn't like they are going through one-hitting everything. That stuff has a lot of hitpoints now and you can still die if you don't pay attention, even on the normal ones. -
leeux✭✭✭✭✭This has also happened the to me. It was last weekend that I agreed to help four VR14 guildies do a plegde with my VR5 healer (they didn't have another healer.)
I got nothing from the run, no XP, no loot, nothing. Just a crap blue item from the Silver undaunted chest, that I deconned for the temper
It cannot be working as intended.

Not asking so much for a more intelligent system I guess as for them to widen that gap. There isn't a huge difference in what I can do as a healer at V8 and what I can do at V14 tbh, other than getting gear to legendary instead of epic and having a few more health or mana points. If you are talking within that many levels for under 50, five levels can make a difference. ✭Seriously what is wrong with carrying. If a group of friends get a new friend to play with them, then why is it wrong to try and get that friend up in level fast to make the group gameplay and socially stronger?

Blud✭✭✭✭✭I don't see anything wrong with carrying someone if you want to, either. Why force people to play a certain way?
Maybe they just want to people to take longer to level because they can't put new content out fast enough to keep people busy. That's all I can think of.
