Does stamina not increase weapon damage?

I noticed that after playing with some respecs, no matter how many points I put into stamina, the weapon damage stat on my character sheet wouldn't increase. I know the weapon skills are affected but what about raw damage of the weapons light and heavy attacks. Isn't the stamina pool supposed to increase this stat?

Stamina does not increase your listed value of weapon dmg in the character sheet but it will increase your dmg of a light/heavy attack. Weapon dmg in character sheet =/= what your light/heavy attack dmg will be.

Stamina will increase the damage of stamina based abilities. This is easy to test out. Simply take a stamina ability like Poison Arrow. Look at the tooltip and take note of the damage. If you increase or decrease your stamina you will see that damage change. I hope that helps.

Before you increase your stamina, check you tool tip on your stamina based weapon attacks, add a point and re-check.

I'm at work currently and not in front of my PC with ESO on it, so I'm going by memory here, but if I remember correctly, my DW bar, flurry was previously at 110,110,110,110, 330 before the next round of stamina boosts, now it's something like 135,135,135,135,135, 405.

Stam builds are very interesting atm.

yup, adds damage to weapon abilities. Will be reflected in the ability's tool tip.

Thank for the responses everyone. I know that the weapon abilities are scaled with stamina. What is confusing to me is what exactly increases light and heavy attack damage, and what the weapon damage stat is, on your character sheet. So based on what you've said:

Stamina increases weapon abilities as evidence by tooltip.

Stamina increases light and heavy attacks, but currently nothing to show that, other than simply seeing damage numbers before and after.

Weapon damage affects actual damage number on your weapon itself? And, this does not scale with any stat and can only be increased via jewlery, enchants, set bonuses?

Max Stam does not increase light/hvy attacks. only weapon dmg does; there are some abilities and passives that increase wpn dmg too.

No-one has a clue as far as I can tell. Haven't since launch when they changed it in some way.

Nope. Max stamina does increase the damage of light/heavy attacks.

Without additional buffs or modifiers, max stamina accounts for about half of the damage of light/heavy attacks, while weapon damage accounts for the other half.

The above is also true for stamina-based skills. The damage of skills is calculated the same as light attacks with respect to dependence on max stamina pool and the weapon damage, except that different skills have different scale factors.

    Yes, you've got it.

My bows weapon damage is 64 over softcap, the only way to do that was carefully selecting armour sets, enchants and jewelry. I run 5 medium, 2 heavy and lots of gear that gives me weapon damage.

    Weapon damage out the wahzoo!
