Error 209.. after patching, yay

Um.. the patch went out, I started patching and then DOOM.

Wasn't anything learned after what happened EU side? >.<



EDIT: Opened and closed the launcher a few times over and over and it started patching again. However it ended with the same result. Then came to post about it being stuck again and without touching ANYTHING on the launcher (after it telling me to repair with the window), it now says "PLAY". I don't understand anything -_-

EDIT2: now after posting that, it says "REPAIR" again.. OMG it is moody!

EDIT3: Got into game with a confused launcher that told me to repair but had a play button. Logged in, logged out. Relaunched patcher, it tells me to repair again. Just patched my husband's computer and it is the same mess.

Scratch that.......just came online and I got in with no problem.

It could still be fine. I had this message when update 4 or 5 came out, and ended up being able to log in just fine when the server came up.

Hopefully it won't be a problem this time, but I haven't gotten that message from the launcher yet and I downloaded the update a few mins ago

Dude, as far as I can tell it's still down for maintenance. Maybe just don't repair it and wait for the server to actually come back up?

Yeah, I'ma try that and hope for the best. But I often patch before the server goes up (so I'm ready when it DOES) and this is the first I've seen of it.. /paranoid.

I had that and then it went away. Lonnnng load screen between login and char select now though.

I kept closing and re-opening the launcher intentionally NOT repairing.. after a few goes it finally decided to start patching again on its own. Hopefully all will be fine now.

If you had already downloaded the patch, you can bypass the launcher - I am now in game by doing that.

I managed to log in with the confused patcher window.. I logged out, relaunched and it is telling me to repair again.. ahahahaha >.<

Launching the patch on my husband's computer, we shall see if it has the same issue. -_-

Yeah just patched the husband's computer and it is also giving error 209. So this isn't just local to my machine >.>

Delete the file 'game_player.version' in the path 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Zenimax Online\The Elder Scrolls Online\game'. Launcher will patch game again. After patched, it still shows Error 209. But the Play button doesn't disappear.

Maybe you can try.

They should stop making patches. They're just breaking the game even more>.>

Error 209, closed launcher, got 209 again, closed error window and somehow got "play" button. Seeing if this works, at char select now.

EDIT: Yay I'm in.

I'm getting the same error, and after closing it, it says "play". But when I try, it crashes immediately before I even see the login screen.

Repaired, failed, same error. Now the repair button shows up, the first time it was the play button (which failed to work, too).

After closing and running the launcher again, it seems to work now (although it was not repaired a second time).

OOh the canned response (I don't mean that in an offensive manner, just frustrating, but I know some people don't actually TRY before they complain). Ok I will humor the steps to follow.

-*Launch as administrator* (lol), still tells me to repair.

-Ok, Repair the client (duh -_-).. WHEEE 30GB to verify /twidlethumbs Oh it is done! Yay for SSDs

-Still Error 209.. ok.. (as if I hadn't tried that)

-*Located directory*, "Expand the Game Options", *looks in folder*
depot/game/vo_en, where are these game options? pokes game folder.. nope.. um ok? Maybe they mean the launcher? Hmm nothing there about updating or anything. Launcher is sitting with an empty bar telling me to repair. /ignore step (That's a weirdly written instruction)

-*Deletes relevant files in next steps*

-Launch the Launcher (lols).. tells me to INSTALL, -click install* 26GB remaining? You're kidding me?! I deleted THREE TEXT FILES! (now I am mad). I was better off launching from the stupid .exe file. I am NOT doing this on my second computer. This is completely unacceptable. Can't believe actually followed that when everything was working fine when launching from the .exe file.

Will Update in 10 years.

-*re-read instructions* see part about canceling the download and clicking repair,
" Click install.
Wait for data to start downloading.
Restart the launcher.
Expand the game option, it should say Updating…, click Cancel.
Click Repair."
*attempt that in vain* Game gives no "repair" option. Only allows me to "resume" download. *continue to be angry and find something else to do tonight*
