Giving an solo option for vet/group dungeons, so everyone is at least able to finish quests...

Rhian-Skybladeb16_ESO
First of all.
I love ESO, I love grouping and I also love questing.

But I found myself unable to find any groups doing Veteran Rank Group dungeons or any Craglorn quests.

Ever since Craglorn has been released I was barely able to finish two of the dungeon based quests... I never even had a chance to do Blessed Crucible or Spindleclutch.

My biggest mistake (irony!) was, that I had some important real life thing that had a higher prio than any game or freetime fun and that kept me away from playing ESO for some time.
I could not play on a a regular base and maybe just log in for maybe some crafting or leveling my lower level chars... not enough time to find a group and doing some VR stuff.

In the meanwhile others finished the quests and went through craglorn and now it is only grinding for them.

End of Story
I am stuck in VR10 with maybe 20 % left to VR 11, have done all soloable quests

Butchering mobs brings not really enough exp

Group Dungeons scale now up to my level, so I cannot even complete them to have them just completed in my quest journal...

Craglorn is only for groups... yes I know some high-end super badass 24/7 people are able to solo those dungeons with closed eyes and tied back hands, but I am not among them - period.

And large enough groups are nowhere to be found. I am either too low level or not the right class...

So... I am out of luck? Are all out of luck who couldn't "grind" the *** out of the group dungeons when they were shiny and new... or not the right level or class?

How about giving us, who had not a chance to play the content when it was new and well used, the solo-option to at least finish those quest and experience the story of those group dungeons as if it were regular quest dungeons...

It's really not that I prefer solo playing. But what to do if there is no group going because most people are no longer interested in doing those?!

You should try the LFG tool, nobody can exclude you there. If you use the chat then of course people wont take you, too many Elitists who don't like new players sadly :(

    As for you proposal.

Personally I would like to see the ability to run every dungeon or trial solo. The question however is, would this be a smart move by ZO and is it technically possible?

Issue number one would be the actual scaling. Mobs would need to do less damage, all players would need a self heal and deal a lot of damage.

A pure on healing specced player, I am one of those would do exactly what in these dungeons? I can heal myself ok but nothing would ever die ;)

In the long run everyone would be forced to run a tank, they can heal and do damage while taking a lot.

Issue number two would be the boss abilities. Lets say a boss now requires 4 people to hit a switch, to stand in a specific formation ... how is a single person supposed to perform these things all at the same time?

At TBC we had bosses at WOW that were so complex that even at level 85 they were not doable due the mechanics.

Issue number three would be the actual difficulty. If we would solve problem one and two then the solo player would have a huge advantage and you have to ask if anyone would do it now with a group or if all would solo since its easier, less dependent on others and maybe more rewarding in the long run.

I agree with you. This is a serious issue cuz there are not enough people playing any more. And I hate to say it but I will be canceling my sub until or even if they fix things if they can at all. >..<

I am fine with this if they remove the new gear sets from the loot tables in the solo version.

That said, there are really good guilds that help casual or newer players. You should seek one of them out. A decent guild is the solution to all of the problems you have listed.

No. Group dungeons are for groups (it's right there in the name). Don't want to group? Too bad, no dungeon for you.

If this issue is serious, then it doesn't exist.

It appears you merely followed your urge to place a dumb comment and show everyone that you are not in possession of the ability to read or grasp the content of a text.

Otherwise, you would have seen that I wrote that I love to group. It was also at the very beginning of my post and at the very end of my post. And also that others would love to group as well, but there are NO groups ;-)

    .......................................

As for the suggestion by some others using the group tool. That is exactly my point. During the lower level I used that tool very often (euro server here) and was successful, because there were groups going.

But now at VR Level - There is no group going. The tool doesn't really change that :-(

Calling out for a group or trying to create one via Zone call... pointless. The utmost I got together was one more guy also around VR 10.

We could not even take down the boss mobs in the regular skyshard group dungeons because we got swarmed. CC spells are pointless on those mobs "this target is too powerful..." that includes every mob connected to the boss.

The real problem here is - if one doesn't grind the holy cow out of new content the very day/week it has been released, it will become extremely hard to do so later.

Most already have sated their interested and loot-hunger new content had to offer and moved on to do the big raids for the big epic loot...

Dungeons have rarely a redo-value. The loot for raids is better...

At the same time, there is no way for the others who could not enjoy the new content, to level really up in a reasonable amount of time.

Let's face it - grinding mobs is boring and brings no exp... I already wrote that in my previous mail.

I know from DDO, which I left because it became FTP/PTW. They had cool dungeon scaling (also before FTP). One could pick "Solo", Normal, Hard, Elite and later on "Epic Elite".

Why not in ESO, too... the mechanics are there.
