UI Error in Crafting UI

TimGS
TimGS
It appeared after update 5.
Way to reproduce (e.g. for Blacksmithing UI):
1. Go to Blacksmithing Station and use it. Choose Create tab.
2. Press ESC to close UI.
3. Go to another Blacksmithing Station and use it. UI is reset to Refine tab and when you try to choose Create again it gives an error:

This error locks UI until you relog. Sometimes I get this error when I get back to station from a merchant's store.

    Hey there @TimGS,

Do you happen to be using any add-ons? If so, can you please disable thrm, reload your UI and let us know of it persists?

No, I'm not using any add-ons.
I tried to fix that via launcher's Repair option but still no luck.

    Hey there @TimGS,

In that case, please give a shot to the following steps and let us know if they help!

    1. Exit the game

    2. Navigate to C:\Users\<username>\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live in windows explorer

    3. Rename Addons to Addons.old

    4. Rename SavedVariables to SavedVariables.old

    5. Check in-game to see if the if the issues persist.

If issues do not persist: The issue was likely related to an add-on that was installed in the past.

If issues do persist: Open the game and go to the settings menu [Esc]. Go to each subsection, Social, Gameplay, etc. and reset all settings to defaults.

Next, go to Chat Options (the gear icon in the upper right corner of the chat window) and reset that to defaults.

If none if this is helpful, let us know and we'll be happy to continue assisting you!

Getting something similar, If I refine mats and proceed directly to the creation tab to complete a crafting writ (quest item) then this error happens almost every time. /reloadui fixes it and allows me to continue. I have noticed a couple of times when I get a ui error that the mats I just refined are not available if I just dismiss the error and my raw materials are used up. Again /reloadui fixes this as well.

    Edit: No add-ons are active

    Hey there @Casdha,

Thanks for the additional report! In this case, we ask that you please give a try to the steps in the post above yours. Inactive mods and old variables can also cause UI errors in various places, so we'd like to be sure that everything is running as fresh as possible. Thanks for your patience!

Inactive add-ons can leave stuff behind that causes persistent errors in ZOS code? Seriously? That kind of code dependency is just... bass ackwards.

Hello again. The above steps didn't fix the error. But 1.5.3 seems to have fixed that.
