Addition idea for trading system, trade posts!

Every setlement should really have a tradepost where people can sell stuff.

For example, If there is a tradepost near crafting place for certain set, the set would be cheaper there and the further you go from that location, like other zone for example, the price goes up.

If all borders would be opened and world converted to open world to allow g
free travel, they could change set crafting to only have one area for each set, then add more sets. This way you could make a set near Auridon, take a ship to Windhelm for example and post that otem there for a good price. If buyer wants that set cheaper, he or she needs to travel to Auridon to either craft it themselves or buy from trading post.

Each tradepost is separate entity, not networked to any other tradepost or guild store.

Trading posts could be made in the way that they can only hold crafted item, not crafting materials. Crafting materials and anything else would be exclusive to guild store and traders naturally can sell anything BUT you can "send a caravan" to distant trader to sell that set made in Auridon FROM Auridons bank/guild store. There would just be a menu to select a guild trader you want to use to sell that item and perphaps sell a bit cheaper from trader near Windhelm that Trading post in Windhelm.

Guild traders should get a limit of some sort to set how much they can hold to keep trading posts in competition.

    Really, nothing?

I do not think it is such a bad idea, similar system works well in EVE for example, exept everything is sold that way. Much more fun and immersive than stupid AH playing which seems to be some people juice.

Guild traders already have a limit. People can only put up 30 items for sale at any given time.

So you would let the system set a price for the goods?

Reminds me of ArcheAge's trading system. It does add more diversity to the game world in an economic sense, and can very much be enjoyable when you can get together with a guild/group of friends and do it together.

But the idea may have complications with the "all borders should be opened" and the idea of travel. For instance, won't it be a tad too easy to use wayshrines for guilds to organize set caravans en masse (which may or may not imply economic difficulties)?

Now the "open world" you mentioned....does it include the ability to see cross faction players? If so, then the idea of potentially seeing and not being able to attack an all-dominion caravan heading toward ebonheart . Add in the ability to attack them and you will then ignite a "It's turned into open world PvP!" discussions/complaints. If not, well....can't really complain much with that safe play.

Then there's the set themselves which I imagine may have to be balanced.

Ofcourse not, the one who sells, decides the price. At least people who played EVE should have some idea what i am chasing here.

Item sets allready exist? At least counting out those that would be added to compensate removed set crafting areas.

Fully open world means for me, that everyone can see everyone regardless of faction. That does not include open world PVP which many seem to mistake open world for....

Wayshrines are problematic, yes.. They potentially reduce set prices which are from the other side of world but.. who knows.

Caravan vere a metaphora in my initial post but.. Real physical caravans could be potential too, not opened for PVP but maybe giving option to hirte mercenaties to attack caravans? Justice system added, attacking trade caravans could have punishment5s through that.. Have to think of it...While i personally hate open world PVP, i also love it for the atmosphere of fear it gives. In EVE for example, the open world PVP is not so open world due well made enforcement system that keeps pvp in safer systems practically
non existent. Still, lets not bring pvp to this too much at this point.

I would just really like the option to play a real trader who could really buy cheåer from other places and sell more expensive elsewhere, guild traders give some degree of that but they are sadly restricted to guilds and therefore take away possibilities to be independent trader since you can not sell stuff through them the way that opens true trading.

AH trading is boring and pointless plus tends to inflate economy indefinitely, not that here please.

Regional markets like that are not possible with how the game is currently set up. This would require some serious reworking of how and where resources enter the game, how items are produced and how they are transported and players travel. And still ignoring all kinds of trickle down effects on itemization, rewards and the like.

While I do prefer economical simulations over simplified themepark solution, I don't think we could ever hope for anything even close to that, since they have to work inside the self set boundaries of the game. Putting this in without changing anything else wouldn't have the sought after effect at all, since any wares can be transported to anywhere in no time without effort anyways.

The only thing currently driving the prices is store accessibility and competition at the spot. Which is why you can generally find better prices in crowded places with many shops, rather than less frequented ones, which usually just go by the average price.

I'd loved to see a more sophisticated system, but for the aforementioned reasons I deem it to be very unlikely to happen.
"You've probably figured that out by now. Let's hope so. Or we're in real trouble... and out come the intestines. And I skip rope with them!"

Honestly, before the guild traders came out, I rarely bought anything from the guild stores. I can mostly make my own stuff.

With the guild traders, I've been able to quickly find stuff I needed (mats of a specific level, fishing bait, a reasonably-priced purple recipe I didn't have), so I started going to them for other stuff, like when I want to try out a dropped set, so I've actually been spending a fair amount of gold at various traders.

If trading becomes too complicated, I'll just go back to making my own stuff.

*thumbs down* This idea won't ever work because they won't ever open the boarders and make it an open world. It will cause too many issues to even mention here. Besides that, they do not want global sales really happening. They also clearly want money sinks in the game or the traders we currently have wouldn't Keep the money from ALL bids, they would just keep the highest bidder's coin. Also each set should have viability and by separating them all over and causing an ascendance you run the risk of only certain sets being worth anything and others becoming junk.

You sure you dont think too much? Like making world open? It would just require simple instance tweaking and adding separate instances for VR and Normal zones. Then make pvp flaggable so it can be automatically disable elsewhere than Cyrodil. Problem solved.

Currently we are separated just because we are in separate instances faction wide.
