Weapon Swap - can it be fixed?

The weapon swap function has been very hit and miss for me since beta. To varying degrees they improve it then it goes back to being unreliable, but never does it work as it should. You know push the button and *kazzzam* weapon swaps, it works in every other game(with the function) so why not here right?
Anyhow, today I had just finished some PVE & PVP in Cyrodiil and then things started getting really unresponsive so I thought time to leave. And so I port back to Shornhelm(VR8?) run around to check some crafting, tap to swap weapons and... tap again... another second then tap... another second, tap... then on the fifth tap it swaps. I'm not in combat and there is nothing else going on, so why does this not register?
Weapon swapping is a really big feature of this game and yet for a great deal of players it just doesn't work effectively. Getting on for seven months after launch and it's still not working as it should. Will it be fixed? Can it be fixed?

GreyBrow✭✭✭✭Are you, by chance, playing on a mac? I have the same issue. Makes the game unplayable because of the level of frustration it causes, when the entire purpose of subscribing to a game is to relax and escape from stressful situations.1
