I have been experiencing severe connection issues this morning. For the past three hours, within 1-2 minutes of having my character loaded, my action bars and hot keys become non-responsive. 15-30 seconds after that, I get dropped from the server. Sometimes I can immediately sign back in. Sometimes I can not, and instead receive a message claiming Error 301, or I merely receive a note stating that something went wrong and to try back in a few minutes.
This most recent disconnect stated that I had been removed from the server for exceeding the allowable message limit, but I had not typed a single line of text to anyone all morning.
I have only been playing ESO for the past two weeks. I have experienced the occasional non-responsive action bar/server boot before, but nothing like what is occurring this morning.
Is this a common issue?

Seravi✭✭✭✭✭It does happen from time to time but usually not as severe as what you are seeing today. As for the exceeding message limit, that shows up if you are having connection issues and hit any keys. When the server finally catches up from lag, it sees that as spamming and kicks you. It's happened to all of us.0 -
Blackangell✭✭Yes, apart from the normal lag issues I have had ever since update 4, I just rage quit the game after being lagged and then soft DC'd every few minutes for the past hour. I don't know what the hell they did in update 4 (I am guessing particle effects code), but whatever it is, I have had just about enough. I love this game, but If the lag issues aren't sorted soon, I am going to unsub til I hear it's better. Even PVE is bad lately, and Cyrodil is virtually unplayable most days
