Anyone else having serious lag, phasing, and other issues since the 1.4.6 update?

After patching to 1.4.6 I now get the following issues.

1) Serious lag when switching weapons, selecting items from the store and guild vendors, or trying to access crates or harvest items. About 5 to 10 seconds of lag.

2) I frequently get teleported back about 10 meters, its like my client lost sync with the server.

3) I 'm getting more and more phasing issues, where I get phased back to a part of the quest that I have already completed. I already posted a video on this but here is a link to the video:

Phasing Issues Video (no sound in video)

In the video, the camps is full of enemy NPC's, but after the quest, the Dreugh, have killed them all, but in the video, you can see my character phasing between both portions of the quest. I even start a fight with a soldier, and the soldier phases out when I pass into the correct quest phase.

Note that I if you have a summoned pet following you around on land and it pops in and out of existence, you are also experiencing the same phasing issue. As I roam around, my pet occasionally pops in and out of existence, similar to the effect when you cross water.

I tried everything that I know to fix this issue:

1) Had Comcast (for the 5th time) check my lines; they can find nothing wrong.

2) Bypassed my router and connected directly to the internet and had the same issue.

3) I tried a previous fix that involved uninstalling the client, rebooting, and reinstalling the ESO client, but this didn't work this time.

4) I did several latency tests and my time is14ms (30 down load speed, 6 Upload speed)

5) I borrowed a packet analyzer and the real-time data (both connected directly to the Internet, and through my router) shows that I'm not losing or resenting packers to or from the ESO server. My router log validates the same data.

And finally, The phasing issue should have nothing to do with a bad network connection, I would think that that would be an ESO server issue.

I'm having the same issues since a few days. Except for the stores/vendors (in my case it was the bank inventory), this happened once while it was open, and after this it was back to normal when I deposited/withdrew things.

The teleporting-back I get pretty often these days, it's really annoying when I'm concentrating on the next action, and suddenly I see the loading screen and get "pushed back".

The phasing issue I have as well, it seems the game doesn't display properly the correct phase, at least not in time. It happens pretty often now that I see enemies etc. infront of me which disappear (or vice versa).

Yesterday, a friend of mine told me he's having some lag now as well, but not as bad as it is on my end, though. Here it runs fine for a while, then it's stuttering like hell (no matter where I am), then it goes back to normal again, and so on.

Thank God, I'd been pulling my hair out thinking it was just me.

I'm thinking its an issue with the ESO server and some networks most likely using QOS or something. Just for my curiosity, are you using Comcast as your ISP. Comcast is telling me it's the ESO servers doing this, not their servers, they just move the packets forward.

I was attacked in Glenumbra EU server by a zombie moving in and out of stealth.
The chest nearby was vanishing like the Tardis in Doctor Who.
Take one step to the left standing in front of chest...it vanished.
Take one step to the right ...it reappeared.

Last night I had that exact same issue on the quest where you help out the Hist tree and the Dreugh become nuetral and wipe out the enemy soldiers. The Dreugh would fade out and the enemy troops would fade in and attack for a second or so, before fading away again.

Haven't had any rubber banding, but when I shoot a projectile half the time the projectile will not appear until right as I kill the enemy. Then here comes the fireball flying up from behind me to hit the enemy corpse as it falls.

Also have noticed my special attacks being delayed or unresponsive. Sometimes I have to push the key four or more times to get it to fire off.

In PVE the lag only lasts for about 10 minutes. However, switching weapons is horribly slow the entire time I'm online.

You are referring to "Camp Silken Snare". My OP here has a video link that shows what you are describing. Apparently the phasing uses an invisible trigger that is drawn around an area that supposed to be phased, but in this area it's screwed up. I put in a bug report for this several weeks ago, but is still wasn't fixed after the recent update.

Since ESO came online, several players, and I reported that some treasure chests phased out, but from what I have seen, the bug is still be present.

I'm also getting teleported back with an alt-character so it's not character related. My bet is that it's a sync issue attached to the player's account because not all player's are experiencing there issues. The sync issue may be ESO server related, to network related, or both, but Comcast is getting tried of my trouble tickets.

I've seen treasure chests that vanish as I approach them (in several locations), and then reappear again as I move away - but not what was happening in your video.

I have seen one mob (a wolf on Bleak Rock Isle) that often vanishes (or phases out) just before or just after it's attacked - only to reappear a second or two later as though nothing at all happened.

Because it's always the same wolf in the exact same location, I shrugged it off as a minor anomaly within the zone - but nothing specific to my computer or Internet connection. I don't recall seeing that exact same thing happen anywhere else in the game.

Occasionally, as I'm approaching an area that was previously occupied by hostiles - but is no longer because I've completed the quest(s) they were associated with - they'll flash briefly into view and then disappear again as I get nearer. (A good example of this is with the skeletons on Bleak Rock Isle, but I have seen it happen in other zones also.)

I wonder if whatever's causing this is in some way related to what's happening to you?

    (edited to correct typos)

(2nd edit P/S: I should also add that I've been seeing what I described above since I began playing ESO in July - not just since the last update.)

So pretty much all day yesterday when I played, it was very laggy. I'd take a few steps, then it'd freeze for a few seconds, then I'd move forward some more, then freeze. It was like an on-going game of freeze tag. I tried lowering the graphics, disabling my add-ons, nothing. I feared it was just me, as nobody in chat or the forums had mentioned it, but I guess I'm not alone in this boat.

I had the occasional rubber-banding and disappearing treasure chests as well.

Today I had to work today, so I didn't have much play time, but I didn't seem to have the freeze-go-freeze-go problem I had yesterday. Instead, the game has been turning unresponsive, then crashing to the log-in screen every ten to fifteen minutes, so I've given up playing for tonight.

I'm getting the Matrix effect as well (teleporting back). For me at least I believe my ADSL issues that I've got is partly to blame (modem is shot .. getting a replacement .. speed tests show that I'm getting a tenth of what I get when using Ethernet cable and wireless turned off).

But .. maybe it's a bit of both? I'll see if it disappears once I get respectable Bps again.

The game freezes, the game stops responding sending me off game. Some doors don't open unless I change weapons. My weapon changes whilst in combat are either so slow or just don't work. I go a dark colour with black and blue stripes all over after a while of playing and the game quite often won't let me mount my horse as it tells me i'm in combat when i'm not.
    All of this in Cyrodiil.

I had major issues the first night of the patch. They included lag, phasing issues, and random loading screens when just out and about. After a couple hours of frustration I was able to get into the same areas without any real problems.

No I seriously don't have any problems in PVP ir PVE but problems seem to be random. Wa chilling with my guild the other day and some guy was getting major lag and crashes for an hour straight but didn't happen to anyone else online. Seems to be the way it goes. Same with phasing.

It never ceases to amaze me how 2 things that seemingly should have nothing to do with each other in fact have a relationship to each other. Why the heck does a door care what weapon I am using? When I can't switch weapons why do I have to roll to fix it? Why does silence prevent me from drinking and swapping weapons?

@Rune_Relic‌, you are a victim of chest phasing...

Had similar occurrence in Betnikh. You've probably completed a quest in a nearby area.

When you are out of the finished phase, you can see the chest. Step forward (into the phase), the chest no longer exists.

Concerning all the "why does this have an effect on that" issues, the developers seem to have painted themselves into a corner with the complexity of this game. Official statements have used the term "too many moving parts" as an explanation for old and new bugs and the long wait for fixes. However, I don't think the number of moving parts is the problem, but the tight and sometimes convoluted connections between those parts. Too many interlocking parts would be a better description, and I honestly think this is a problem of their own creation.

I am not saying that game design is easy, or that I would have done better, but they really seem to be confused over how their own game works and get lost in their own code, and that is not good.

Complexity is a necessity for a system as large as an MMO RPG. Unmanageable complexity, however, is a recipe for disaster.

I agree completely. It seems that the developers didn't use modular and compartmentalized programming techniques in the early stages of development, so now they have spaghetti code.

This explains why when they fix one bug they create two more unrelated to the original problem.

I never had as many problems with a game as I had with this one. I played Battlefield 4 with zero issues yesterday (All video settings to the Max with constant 60 FPS at 2440 x 1440, had twelve players in total mayhem), returned to ESO and just couldn't play it, it was just too jerky, freezing or pausing for 5 - 10 seconds in battle, and teleporting me back 10 meters and 20 minutes and etc.

I love the game, despite these issue, but slowing losing my patience, especially with the new MMOs coming out next year, and single player games coming out this fall.

I submitted a game consultant file to the technical support staff, so I'll see where this goes.

I tried to play again tonight, but I was constantly being teleported backwards every 2 minutes of moving forward. Tried to do a public dungeon and the game crashed my back to the log on screen while battling a mob.

Logged on again, and played the entire dungeon (about 30 minutes) with no issues?

If I played a perfect game for 30 minutes, the issue can't be with my computer, network connection, or ISP correct?

I have been getting it a lot. I was in a group doing a dungeon and it kept lagging so I died a few times and then I got kicked out of the group and the leader told me I was useless ha ha.

The next day I started a group and she joined but then left when she must have seen my name and I just wanted to tell her IT WAS THE LAG!

Server is lagging right now but it's 2am PST so time to call it a night. I asked in zone and where people were from. I got a lot of responses and there were people on from all over the world. Game hangs for several seconds& everyone including NPC's appear to be standing still. It was not this bad an hour ago.
