Why have we needed to relog to get our mail since game launch?
This seems unnecessary and is a waste of time, and if I'm in Cyrodiil I have to go through the queue all over again. Unless I alt+F4 of course which is stupid.
My favorite is how it doesn't tell u what u sold or in what guild store. Kinda generic how this hasn't been fixed either. Just says guild store and sometimes the time it was sold or u bought is way off.
You don't always need to relog or zone to refresh the mail, sometimes just viewing the inbox is enough to refresh it. But yes, it could be improved. And as also mentioned, info about sales should be more detailed as well. I currently use an addon to track the details of sales.
Mail should be instant, regardless. I play other MMOs and mail arrives within seconds of mail being sent.
What I notice is that you are basically allowed one mailbox opening per login --- unless you are on for quite a while with a lot of zoning. Also, zoning doesn't always fix it and WHY should that even be required?
They need to fix the mail system BIG TIME. I use MailR and it allows me to keep track of mail sent as well as Reply/Forward mail. I'd like these options in the game but okay great, if they are not then it's not the most pressing issue. However, having to zone (and hope that worked) or relog and know it will work in order to get additional mail after your initial mailbox opening with new mail in it... is absurd.
I get that there might be technical limitations that make it difficult to receive mail instantly. Maybe it's a megaserver issue. I'm no expert. Having said that, I can't see why we cannot have a "retrieve mail" button that just boots up the mail similar to relogging. Put a timer on it if it's too much stress on the server so we can only do it once a minute perhaps.
I guess it's just something I've taken for granted in games for the past 10 or more years. You send a mail to another player, it shows up within seconds typically. Why it takes minutes or maybe over an hour if you don't zone is puzzling.
It's just one of many little pet peeves of mine about the game. I'm not going to quit over it, but part of me wonders why it is the way it is. Add in the "item sold" mail mentioned above as another one of those very poorly implemented systems as well as the inability to toggle off the trial notifications without an addon. I'm sure there are plenty more little issues that you just don't see in highly polished games, but hopefully they get taken care of in time.
