Better Player-Guild recruiting system!

In my honest opinion something should be implemented to allow people trying to recruit members for their guilds rather than spamming zone chat ever minute or so.
Guild spammers are very annoying and seem desperate when they do this.

And scanning the forums for that special guild may turn off some(like myself), not to mention not every guild is recruiting on the forums.

But I was thinking of a way to advertise that wouldn't break you away from the game and also would be much less annoying, like maybe a building, or some kind of board you could post your guild info.

Think about it, people who are looking for a guild will go there in-game and eventually find a guild they like, and the lovely people chatting in zone won't be so rudely interrupted by said spammers.

Just an idea that I think would be a great addition to this game.

If nothing else, I could find different types of guilds this way. Most of the ones that spam in zone chat are trade guilds looking for more inventory, or, I mean players. OK, Inventory.

However, have you looked into this section of the boards?

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Can't say I mind it all that much. Can be annoying if they are spamming it once a minute and the recruit message is long ... but eh, it's a quick thing to hit ignore.

Well you both do have good points, plus I guess I was raging for some reason at the time.

I think adding a localized board or such wouldn't help. People just wouldn't bother. Take Star Trek Online for instance, they have a board that lists guilds in your interface, no one uses it. They use zone to find guilds, because there are so many listed and you have no real idea about any of them or who to contact, when they are online, etc...

What I think would work is a Guild Recruitment server or zone wide chat channel that these posts can go into, and people can just turn the channel off if they don't want to use it.

They just need to add a tab on the guild menu to search for existing guilds.

I agree with the OP. If you are truly looking for a guild then why not spend a few minutes at an in-town bulletin board tabbing through guild messages that could have so much more info then a chat spam. Guild tabard could be autoloaded onto the screen. Contact info, etc.

As it is, I usually slap guild spammers on ignore list.

Yeah. My suggestion was to add a membership application option to guild kiosks.

Yea this is a reason why I'm not in a guild at all cause alot of these guild will allow any one to join just cause they answered a spam in zone. Like how i grew up with guilds comes from all the way back to runescape times. Guilds meant something with friends and that you really stood for something and took pride in your banner. Now it's just specific guild like traders, crafters, PvP, ect ect who just use each other for that one thing that's all. How I see guilds there meant for you and friends to talk, trade, quest, and have fun together and the guild in ESO are just one thing guilds who just use one another those aren't guilds there just groups. Sure there's those few guilds who do more than one thing but they just more players in there guild cause ESO logic is more players in guild more famous you are. So in a nutshell form a real guild not one time guilds or guilds cause you want alot of players in it start one up with some friends and see were it goes from there recruit players that you meet on delve runs or sold you traits you need even players you meet in PvP get to know that player first before sending a invite not just spamming zone chat.
