Anyone experience lag only when playing ESO?

As the title says, anyone have only ESO lag when they're playing? I'll have Netflix streaming or Chrome open and they'll run just fine but ESO will lag horribly, mostly around 12am EST and 4am EST (my hours that I play due to working nights) and at other times during the day, and not just in Cyrodiil either.

Even if I turn off Netflix, Crunchyroll, Facebook, whatever have you, ESO and only ESO still lags, so I'm at a loss here as to what's causing it, and left wondering if anyone else has had a similar issue.
Bobbity Boop, this game might become poop, but I'll still play because I'm just a pile of goop!

Likely it's not an issue with your system but rather with the game engine.

Actually it's probably both. Mostly their system though.

I initially had problems with lag, but it completely went away when I began using a freeware utility that allows me to (permanently) run ESO on 'High' priority in Windows 7.

At the same time I began making a point of tabbing out to close the launcher window after starting the game (because I read in a few different places that it might also be helpful), but I've recently forgotten to do this a few times and the lag hasn't returned, so I'm beginning to think that shutting the launcher down might be unnecessary.

Yes, there is considerable lag in this game from ZOS' end.

No, don't contact support. They have no idea what they are doing.

I usually defend CS quite a bit for companies. But I tend to leave feeling things are unresolved and more frustrated with ESO.

Actually the CS in ESO is really good, unfortunately it's all do to things that CS can't really help with. Like when people started having frame drops in 1.2, that was something on development side and there is nothing CS could have done about it.

Out of any MMO or fps that im playing, eso is by far the WORST in terms of lag.

    *George Takei voice* Oh my!

This won't make the FPS go higher but instantly noticed smoother game play. Swap weapon seemed to work smoother.

Create a desktop shortcut to eso.exe.
In the target window: cmd /c start/high eso.exe
    Hit OK

Although I typed what you see above, after hitting OK it made it into:
    C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /c start/high eso.exe

This suggested High Prio shortcut actually made performance a lot worse for me and at the same time I lost alot of personal settings.
