How to farm emperor.

Phinix1

✭✭✭✭✭
Method the first:
  • Player A (the Emperor farmer) sets his home campaign to Haderus. Say he is AD faction (for the sake of the example).
  • Players B through X (player A's guild mates) are also AD, and set their home campaign to Azurah's Star or Lagblade.
  • Players B through X set their EP alts to home on Haderus.
  • Players B through X set up a fake keep offensive and suicide to player A "defending" over and over and over and over and...
  • Let Player A seal in players B through X by repairing the walls with them hiding inside.
  • Make sure to leave at least one of your red buddies alive to rez the others to avoid needing a camp.
  • If some legit players come along and try to re-open the breech, gank them and repair it fast, while keeping all your turncoat EP suicide buddies inside.

Method the second:
  • Join a top ranked clique/guild/cult.
  • Do "favors" for the "elite" until your hazing period ends to ingratiate yourself.
  • Wait for the campaign to near completion. Cap all but one of the inner keeps.
  • Coordinate with your cronies to have your guild's previous emperor dethrone themselves by switching campaigns just before the reset.
  • Be ready with that same bunch of cronies to cap the last keep after helping you farm to the top of the AP chart which shouldn't be too difficult five minutes into the campaign.
  • Cap the last keep once the next in line is fully marinated in AP.

I shall leave out cheats/hacks/exploits, 16-hour a day grind sessions, prayer, and skilled play, as they either have no place in this discussion or represent a less effective strategy than those illustrated above.

    My pleasure!

Also worth noting, method 1 is also a highly effective means of farming AP siege in a much shorter time as is easily possible on higher population servers, to send over to your AS/Lagblade guild mates. :)

Damm , pity it requires the guild part :P.
On a low population server, method 1 can work with a small close-knit group of 4-5 friends, assuming they all have alts on one of the underdog factions.

Given that you have taken to posting about this everywhere, I will copy a post I have made in response to these accusations.

I agree absolutely that people who exploit the game, notably by killing friends on alt accounts over and over, should be punished accordingly. Having said that, I would like to point out a couple of things.

    1. It is very easy to get 200k within a few hours, particularly on a new campaign where a lot of players log in with an effort to establish themselves on the leaderboard. If you play as solo, as a duo, or small scale group (you get diminishing returns as you increase in size, but as long as you don't zerg it you can still make a lot of AP) and do so effectively, 200k can be made in to time at all. The assumption that these points are earned via exploiting the game is not correct at all. I am not saying it doesn't happen, but I am saying it most likely does not happen quite as often as you might suspect. I made approx 300k on Sunday evening for instance, across 2 - 3 hours. I wasn't exploiting.
    2. You get diminishing returns when killing players over and over. This is easily tested. If a player has died repeatedly without killing many others / dishing out much damage, their AP value will drop to negligible amounts. I've seen the value of a kill go down as low as 7 AP. This is a measure that is already in place that prevents the farming you refer to. Of course there may be ways to reset this (such as relog) but that does slow down progress. With that said, I don't think it's exploiting in this way that earns the AP.

To me it seems like you are a little annoyed that you haven't figured out ways of making a lot of AP, fast.

How does method 1 get you emperor? You want Emp on Had, coordinate a simultatious cap of the ring of six by a large wave of either EP or DC during the off hours. (After stacking your canidate of course). Wait for AD to restore their buff server, rinse and repeat. (AD and EP could also do the same on Chill, though unlike with Had, DC might not be able to restore it to a buff server.)

    You forgot the:

Lead an "elite" guild. Fight for emperorship keeps, in progress of fighting for keeps, gain enough ap to become emp when finally capturing all the keeps. Then hold emp without dropping so your faction can win the campaign, rather than farm emp.

Edit: oh and defend emp against double pop locked enemy factions. Those were some fun fights.

Meh, that shows that you either play a lot or run with a nice group for a good 4-10 hours.

I'm only rank 24, because I spent maybe 2 months only dueling (minimal ap gain) but I don't think it really shows how skillful the player is at pvp.

At the end of the day, former emperor means nothing, alliance rank means a little more (but not much). You'll just have to judge based off action.

    300k/hour AP? :o

I'm a frontline healer EP NA (with underdog AP buff most of my playing time because of the huge AD numbers) who isn't afraid to pop out his offensive arsenal to get a couple of kills. I run 50% solo, 50% pug grouped.

I manage 10k/hour AP up to 15k/hour AP.

I must be doing something very wrong it seems. Not that I actually care about leaderboard rankings as I know very well they mean crap. It saddens me that in a couple of days it's going to be the AP cheaters and exploiters getting all the goodies (top 10 and top 100) while the ones fighting at my side, all the time, will get whatever remains to be granted.

Only way I managed to get up to a decent position was playing the 14 day campaign 6 hours in the evening and more at the weekends. i made 300k over 2 weeks mostly running solo and just fighting. Doing missions as I could helped a bit. But no way was I close to the top few guys who had scored an order of magnitude more.

I did hit the top 2% which was my target 'cos I stupidly hadn't noticed ZOS had stealth changed from will get a cool weapon to might get a cool weapon. Scumbags.

Or it's because we aren't Pros, may be. That's probably the reason, my guess.

Pros do 300K/hour AP while we need 2 weeks to reach that amount, more or less.

Imagine on Thornblade EP NA the Numero Uno Pact had more than 7.3 Million AP Yesterday and we have 2 days still to go.

A.k.a being carried by doggie and hex.

Don't worry buddy I'm only messing with you :stuck_out_tongue:

That's a low blow :open_mouth: Well, in a sense you're not wrong - when I play with the Banana Squad I play more or less as full support sorc doing virtually 0 damage so with that build I'd be useless without the group around me. But similarly I think they'd gladly say they wouldn't kill as many as they do (in our groups) without my well timed negates, so it works both ways ;-).

Ha ha, I knew it would hurt a little, but like I said, I was only messing with you mate. All the players at Banana Squad are obviously very very good players and each one makes the team stronger.

    You redeemed yourself :'(

So that's how our group is called? Banana squad? :)

At least back then they used to wear yellow tabbards, now they wear pink. They should change the name to The Care Bear Squad

Well a Sorc in a (non-sneaky) group, is either a DD vampire or CC Support, period.

If you try to go out as a normal damage dealer (no vamp) you find yourself kiting too much with CF, Fury, VC etc. so you're not really getting involved in team play so much. You're effectively playing solo, kinda like a bow NB, but with a group near you.

So the best you can do for yourself and the group is to Streak in and drop Negates. Unless of course you go full cheese and start popping bats and impulse, which is very effective must be said.

To be honest, if I had those beast of DKs in my group to I'd do the same.
