There is definitely strategy happening in PVP. Played with some small groups today, like 5v5 or so, some larger like 10v10. People use terrain to their advantage, kite people into ambush by guards or waiting stealth archers, suicide into groups to get a feel for enemy numbers, all kinds of stuff.

Personally I find Impulse spam to be one of the simplest things to deal with. One Sorc with negate can shut down their little pewpew train long enough to thin it out, especially if it is in tight quarters which is where this causes the most trouble. Or 2 or 3 people stacking oils at entryways tends to help as well.

In open field combat, range them, focus one target (communication required), and if all else fails, fall back and siege them. Try to kite their blob into a bottleneck where your team has the high ground, then boil them in oil!

Encase (this is best) - Tallons (you gotta get closer)

Break up the zerg train. Try to hit them from the back - normally you can catch the healers because the impulse spammers like to run upfront. Once it falls apart these players don't have the skill to survive and are a great resource of AP.

In a keep let them take one flag - though try to hit them with Meatbag. When they rush the next flag go to the first one.... soon between your siege and the keep NPC's you will wipe them and reap another great bounty of AP....

I welcome players of all factions to do this to Zerg Trains.

You think one Negate with 6 targets is going to do anything against 24+ players with Immovable, Rapid Manoeuvre and Barrier up lol? The blob doesn't even need 100% uptime on Immovable. All they need is one sorcerer not affected and your Negate is countered by enemy Negate.

Try a a dozen Sorcerers all spamming Negate, combined with roots, siege and oil and you might start wearing the blob down. No doubt, that works in the open. But when a zerg 50 players stacks on both flags simultaneously and covers the floor with Impulse and other PBAoE, you cant really do anything. The keep will flip before you manage to kill them from above with oil and ranged.

They need to do something about impulse, either make it blockable and/or add a 0.5 second cast timer or something. Anything. Impulse spam just makes me sad whenever I encounter it.

Kind of feel sad for the players that spam impulse, they're gonna have to actually learn and play the game at some point in time

This is very overblown. PVP is not all pulsar and batswarm. If you actually think this, then you obviously have not PVPed much or at all.

I'm thinking this is just another troll post.

I know exactly what the OP means. I can kill 50 some odd players without dying and here comes a group of 3 with impulse and I'm dead.

Ive resorted to impulse spamming and can testify that having a spammable spell that cant be blocked is indeed a very nice thing to shave off those HP with absolutely no skill.

I urge everyone to use spam impulse until there is nothing but that.

Impulse spammers make it easy for me to keep my streak / negate / encase spam going on them. If only all enemy sorcs would be mindless impulse zombies so my negates wouldn't be negated.

Most of the impulse spam groups run immoveable. You're wasting ulti if they are.

Or yknow people could just stam break the negate and hold block for the streak and continue to spam impulse.

It's funny cuz that doesn't stop my encase, and the blobs usually never roll/maneuvers out of my encases. Keep encasing them from behind and let the mob behind me gobble them up piecemeal. Having ppl caltrops the field for me before I dive in is just more funny.

^This.. You just need to know what counters and roll with that. Some play the game, some let the game play them.
