Why arena PVP can't work in ESO.

What I find much more interesting with those is, that the issue mentioned on most of these threads from 2014 or early 2015 are issues which are STILL present and did not find a solution yet. I guess this is what is pointed out by resurrecting them.

I want it just because Cyro is a pain to get into most of the time. I just wanna queue up and do some quick matches, not run back to the fight (5 mins, maybe get ganked on the way), then die in 10 seconds when I get there anyway.

Who cares if PvP arenas are as unbalanced as ever? It'll be there. It's content. Content to be played and something different than running from keep to keep.

I came to this game for Cyrodiil. I want to enjoy that massive AvA battle. They need to fix other things in the game to make that more fun. More objectives, better AoE and combat, Lag fixes, better seige, ect, ect, ect.... so that I can feel like I'm fighting a war. I'm not trying to 1v1 people. I want to fight a war.

Why does that matter? It is still relevant to today's game.

What I find sad is the original posters are no longer around this forum or game...

Arena pvp will be awesome! No good players will want to run in mindless zerg blobs doing nothing but spamming steel tornado and proxy det.

Plenty of titles have less abilities available than ESO yet they function just fine with a pvp arena. And if you're really worried about not being able to change skills all ZOS would need to do is add the ability to save loadouts, and then change between them on a death screen. Plenty of games do that as well.

In full honesty it just seems like you want the game to be something it's not OP. You limit your point of view to that and that only. Having access to several skills is not the only way to adjust. How you position, open, and what defensive movements you take depending on the opponent and their build all can effect the out come. They're all things that can be done without changing a single skill too.

Adaptability can be measured in several ways. It could be considered to be adaptive if players are limited, and they have to come up with a build that answers as many scenarios as possible without being spread to thin.

The one real thing that bugs me out about ESO is why they are so far behind many other mmorpgs? Arenas, housing etc.

The OP is old, but he's just as wrong now as he was in 2014.

How could 1x1 or 4x4 arenas POSSIBLY be any more unbalanced than the PvP we have now, where solo players get steamrolled by gank squads and mindless zergs?

5v5 fights dont require adaptability
1v1 lets you do whatever you want.
The game is fine and will work for it
