Think they are making up a date or do you think this is legit?

Its a placeholder date meaning they don't have a set date. Also games and movies come out on Tuesdays and not Wednesdays.

Look at any DVD or Game release. Most of the time its Tuesdays.

Yes all games and movies come out to stores on Tuesdays with a few special exceptions here and there. YOu might remember Skyrim launched on a Friday.

Dec 31 is just a place holder date. To me it sounds like the game is delayed to sometime in 2015. I would think if this game was hitting consoles by the end of the year we would hear about a beta by now cause I don't think theres anyway this is launching without a console beta.

Actually in UK games can come out on any day, Admitedly Friday is the most common, but Saturday and Monday are also very common, and Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are not unheard of either.

Sundays are rare for release dates though.

I live in UK and have bought games released on every day except Sunday.

That's the same here. They can come out any day but about 95% of the time it's on Tuesday. This game came out on a Friday but the 3 day Early Access was on a Tuesday. I looked it up online and there where some theories but no concrete evidence.

Theory 1: starts way back in record sale days. Where new record magazines came out on Monday then the records they promoted on Tuesday so that the news was still fresh enough in peoples minds to go buy it.

Theory 2: Sales reports are due on Monday so releasing products on Tuesday gives them almost a full week of sales

Theory 3: Weekends are when people go out to do stuff so not releasing on a weekend they don't have to compete for money spent

Theory 4: Tuesday is the slowest shopping day and it helps boost sales

console version will come out at around 1 year anniversary or june probably. ZoS said dark brotherhood was going to be available when Ps4 /xbox launches, which means April at the earliest.
