[Add-on] Don't Like Confirming Mail Deletions? Use this . . .

There has been some disproportionate rage on the forums about the new confirmation for deleting emails. If you are among them or simply find it annoying, MailR will block those confirmation boxes and give some much needed features to the mail tab like saving sent mail, forwarding mail AND adding a reply button.

I believe this to be an unintentional "feature", but if it's something you are looking for . . .

I appreciate the offer, but having to install addons to fix something they broke just lets them off the hook. They broke it, they need to fix it. Third party software is NOT a professional response.

If I didn't use addons to fix all the broken software in ESO my whole game would collapse.

Except they didn't "break it". It's a fix technically as the confirmation box was always supposed to be there. Even if it was a straight up change, they still still didn't break it.

You must have low standards then.

Don't understand why people brag about sticking with the UI out of stubborness or some misguided belief it's all part of a grand minimalist UI scheme. It's not. It's just bad interface.

AdvancedFilters, AwesomeGuildStore, plus addons that provide some method of putting what I loot "somewhere" and info on combat should be in the interface already. We're not talking skyshards here, or shortcuts, or cheaty, spoilery ones--just the ones that remove frustrations caused by limited, bad UI that don't add anything at all to the game.

And now we need one to deal with this new confirmation dialog that can affect people to the tune of hundreds of unnecessary clicks a day. But you're just okay with that? Because ZOS put the confirmation there, so it must be good? That's just silly.
This message confirms that you have successfully cancelled your subscription to The Elder Scrolls Online. You will no longer be charged for a subscription on a recurring basis, and your access to the game will expire at the end of your current subscription cycle.

    Thank you for this addon!

The thing that really irks me about this change is that if it were actually intentional, it should have been a toggleable option ("Confirm mail deletion yes/no?")

Also, they add in a confirmation on something as trivial and stupid as in-game mail (which you already couldn't delete if there was an attachment), yet there is still no confirmation on the Horse Feeding choices. That's something you only do once a day, and a mis-click can forever prevent you from maxxing out inventory space on your draft horse. If anything needs a confirmation added, it's that!

That's the case with many basic UI features and options this game needs, actually...

I just released my addon (BT9) ByTheNine Notify. It's gives you extended notification settings. It currently supports options to disable Delete Mail Confirmations, Trial Notifications, PvP Scroll Announcements, and Friend Logon/Logoff Status Messages. On esoui.com and Minion.

MailR doesn't give you any options to disable it's additional features. Wykkyd's Mailbox conflicts with MailR currently. The toggle doesn't work properly and Sent/Forwarded mails cannot be deleted. He's working on a fix.
BT9 Notify does not conflict with MailR or Wykkyd's Mailbox and all settings are optional on the settings menu. If you don't want to use their addons, my addon is always another option.

So addons are the only way to play this game without it ruining your day? That's sad. I always thought any game should be able to stand on its own, without assistance.

Functionality is something that should be basic to any game, but sadly I suppose that is something Z has no clue about. The economy is missing options, the in-game mail is now pissing people off, traits and skills are borken. They could at least admit they can't code it in at all, then we'd KNOW this is as good as it's going to get and then make an informed decision about whether to continue to throw money into their gaping maw. But no, they stay silent and hope it goes away. That's one way to deal with problems I guess.

Yet another so-called Live release that is really Beta, and we are paying to test.

They didn't break it, it was intended to be there from the start.

    OMG, people complaining about complaining?

It never asked before, and in every other damn game I can turn off the confirmation. Why does THIS game have to be so damned obtuse about everything? It's not something that should be praised as the pinnacle of programming, on that I can be sure. And why are so many people stating that it's acceptable to have to confirm a delete after you already tell it to, are the people playing this game mentally dysfunctional in some fashion and need help with that? Are you used to having to give commands twice all the time?

I'm getting pretty tired of hearing really poor excuses for just plain bad coding. And from people paying money for the experience no less. Does anyone not have standards?

Mainly because you can now delete the contents from a hireling, if you have to clear your inbox it's painful. The mail system is not good and they've made it worse.

heheh. Add-ons are a great way to play this game, just like they're great way to play Skyrim.

Saying, like Probitas does, that whatever this developer puts before you should be sufficient, is analytically deficient. It reminds me of people saying whatever the government does is right, or all laws should be obeyed, or that you should never ask more than what a business provides. pfft. That kind of thinking is worth comment but beneath argument. I get paid well to suggest process and policy improvements in several areas, and never lack for examples of businesses or government doing poorly in providing goods and services.

Here's two screen shots with attachments, where's the delete option?

You can only delete a mail after you take the attachments.

    Nice try.

    Yea BT9 is awesome!

The creator of MailR says the feature is unintended and could cause problems with things getting deleted that shouldn't (he/she is interested in getting someone to pick up updating the addon if you are interested, he/she doesn't have much time anymore.)

BT9 covers things like scroll updates outside of cyrodiil too. Mmmm

A lot of MMOs are DESIGNED to be open and allow add-on authors to craft add-ons to help themselves and others. Would you rather a fixed, rigid set of rules that limits your options? "If you're a DK, then THIS is your action bar - period." (as an example)

[Hard Mode Dungeoneers] is recruiting all players of all levels for this new Guild.
THIS IS A NEW-BUT-GROWING GUILD. We are focused on doing vet pledges, vet dungeons, getting achieves, & doing hard mode bosses.
Most active GMT+10 (Australia time zone) in the afternoon Mon-Fri and all day Sat/Sun.
