I hate Storm Atronauts

They kill me lots!

I've built up a reasonably useable VT5 Nightblade (my only character) and have largely managed to work around the build's limitations, to the point where I can solo some world bosses, handle largish groups of MOBS and usually work out tactics to handle any equal level enemy, but Storm Atronauts seem to cream me every time.

My usual arsenal of attacks just don't seem to work for me here; I can't stealth around them (their electrical field breaks shadow cloak), I can't stun or snare them, I think that I take constant damage whilst engaged in melee and their electrical bolts are pretty effective at range too; I don't think that bleed damage effects them either. Add to that that I'm getting hit for over 1600 damage in single attacks and I'm struggling.

They've now replaced Harvesters as my most hated foe!

When they start pounding their chest to release the lightning you have to do the hold block press attack thing. Then you'll see it fizzle out across the ground instead of actually shooting the bolts and the damage will be nothing.

I don't even bother with these. Same with trolls and harvester. I only kill them if I have to.

I suspect that part of being a NB is sneaking around tougher opponents...

I just can't touch them at the moment, the amount of damage they dish out along with being unable to use shadow, their immunity to bleed attacks and the fact that they're too powerful to stun or snare means that I'm pretty ineffectual against them; I'll have to explore some other tactics at some point.

Doesn't matter when they're still fast moving homing missiles that can see the invisible. Hate 'em. Though it's only the Craglorn guys that really do give a terminal headache, lower vets are manageable but a pest in pairs.

yea mobs that are able to see through invis and immune to our stun is rather dumb, since that is the cornerstone of melee dps nightblade.

Yep, I don't think I will ever get the Daedric Slayer Achievement becuase of these. And, my NB, DK and Sorc all have issues with Storm Atronachs, even with the Storm Atronach Ultimate.

Harvesters, once I learned that their little balls of health regen regen'd me if I destroyed them became quite easy.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I find elude helps a lot, honestly. That and circling around them as I hit them. Their aoe can still hit sometimes, but they miss me far more often than they hit.

Yup.. that one cone AOE they have takes them a couple seconds to cast and is easy to avoid. If you can find something nearby to run in circles around it helps a lot. Kiting in the wide open is much more difficult.

They are a pain, but I've managed on my VR NB, as long as veil of blades is up and you spam your attacks you should kill it quick enough.

I hear you. Though for me, they are tied with Harvesters. Frost Atronachs are a close third...

I hate them too but at least their 'up-front' in their battles. They're just really tough and hit for big damage. I really hate Harvesters but mostly Supernal Healers. I simply cannot beat a healer by himself b/c he focuses all his healing on himself and he gets to heal like every second or third round. When it takes me three or more hits to finish him, yea, you can see my dilemna. It's impossible b/c you have to finish him off in three hits or less or he's back at full health and then we are at a stalemate. Ultimates don't help either.Harvesters the same. The amount of healing they do is crazy but at least with them you can focus on popping those orbs to counter their healing. With SH, there is no counter. They don't stun for me either, so I just avoid them when they're by themselves. I'm VR2 now and for 1-50 it was never like this. Battles are very tight and have to be well planned in advance. For example, if there is a mix of enemies, like supernal and demora it becomes a little harder (skill selection is compromised). I can still do it but I can't move around too much during the fight or I might pull out another nearby enemy. If I'm already engaged in battle and I'm surprised attacked its an automatic death for me b/c of low stam, mgk, health, take your pick. Stationary battle is hard for me b/c moving around is my fight style-lots of dodging, blocking etc.

Interrupt the healing...L and R click. They stagger, you knock down, hit again, wait for healing, repeat. Takes at most 2-3 times before they die

So it counts as their "heavy" attack. Didn't know that. Thanks man! Will try. You probably just saved me tons of aggravation.

These are the worst for me too... as a sorc with very limited stamina you only get a few interrupts which more often than not isn't enough to kill.

Even worse.. I have ran into some that seem immune to interrupts all together. Not sure if that's by design or a bug... its hard to tell sometimes.

When my Nightblade skills decide to work I usually stun healers from shadow cloak and take them out first. I've had a number of comedy moments with healers where I'm hitting them constantly with everything I've got whilst they stand there healing themselves; their health bar hardly moves; it could probably go on and on (I wish my healing skills worked as well)

I found that too and made the mistake of selling it. Now I plan on accumulating a resistant item for everything.

Doesn't shards interrupt or at least knock down? Save one of your glowy hands insta casts for when the healer starts to heal. Remember, any hard cc stops their healing....stun, knockdown, etc.

Usually, yes. But not some of the bosses that I ran into. I found some other threads on this topic and it does seem to be a bug... as the behavior isn't consistent from one player to the next. Some people can interrupt with no issue... others can't no matter what they try to reset the bug. The ones that I ran into that can't be interrupted, they were immune to knock down too.

Considering how tough those bosses are when you can interrupt.. you can believe that when you run into this that they're neigh impossible to beat.

Post nerf they can be beaten without weapons and probably half naked at VET10 as a NB if you use class skills and Spec for magicka.
If not the best tactic is the old pre nerf stuff.
    1. Charge Veil of Blades before the fight,
    2.Use Shades,
    3. Use Damage, crit potions,Be sure to have health food on
    4. Use Circle of Protection and expert hunter .
