Addons reset?

Being EU, last time i logged in patch was not up for me
However, reading commentary on massively's article, it appears as if addons are -AGAIN- reset with this patch.
Is that the case? Please tell me it's not, lol
If it is the case, emphasis on if, have yet to see this..
can we please stop changing the location of the variables folder, or whatever it was the last two times that caused this?

likelolwhat✭✭✭✭They do seem to be. I'm downloading the patch now -- on NA server -- and about 70% of the way through I remembered to backup. So I paused, copied the folder into my main Docs, and will try to merge it back as soon as the patch is done.
I don't think it's the location changing. I think the Devs are including the default settings in the patch, which overwrites our tweaked settings. It is extremely annoying. Hopefully this backup-thing works.Forever looking for that one avatar that no one else has...

✭✭I repeat. Add-on settings did not reset.
I suppose it is possible that key bindings if add-ons had custom ones might have. I'm not sure where those are saved.2 -

✭Yeah, addon settings are in their own area, which would have NOTHING to do with a game update. How could it even reset them to their specific defaults anyway? ZENI doesn't write them.
Just settings and key bindings got reset.

Well they did screw it up two updates in a row. They had a function in the LUA stop working that borked it in 1.2. Everyone reset their settings as a result. Then in 1.3 they corrected the problem and they had to do it again.0 -

✭My add on settings went back to default. Took me only 5 mins to get them all back to normal. Its a but of a pain but not that bad. It usually happens to some extent during patches anyways.Hey everyone! Look! It's a signature!0
