Mannimarco the hero of ESO.

While the sheep known as the "Mages Guild" pick their noses and the rest of Tamriel fights dumb battles, Mannimarco is trying to become a GOD. He is is the only one with the intelligence to realize that to not be slaves or subject to tamriels gods you must become a GOD. I really hope Cult of Worms becomes a skill tree. Mannimarco is the only individual to understand Tamriel.

Visions of godhood is only something a lost delusional person would pursue. There will always be someone or some thing bigger and better than you.

My character beat Mannimarco. He beat Molag Bal. He saved Kings, Queens, and countless civilians. He has assassinated all kinds of bad guys, crushed werewolves and vampires, and even become Emperor in Cyrodiil. Frankly, he should the next endgame boss in future expansions. :)

But he died many times doing it. Pathetic mortal. Your quaint visions of victory are naught but fleeting delusions as your soul slips into the void.

    Mannimarco lives!

Same goes for me...but if I 'died' how can I continue?
Clearly I'm immortal, by far greater then any false god.

He doesn't stay a God though, in Oblivion he is a Lich, whom you destroy. He may have achieved Godhood, but he clearly couldn't hold on to it.

Obviously his reach exceeded his grasp.
(I'll explain that one, he touched godhood (reach) but could hold on to it (grasp))

He's got the right idea, but he's a elf. Not even a real person, so unfortunately not capable of a being a god ^.^

Well. We never had total freedom. We couldn't join Jaggar Tharn, Dagoth Ur, Mehrunes Dagon, Alduin or Molag Bal and just help them burn the world. Total villany is a nono

A bit more complex than that. He's a full-blown God(a moon) and a "mortal" Lich at the same exact time in... time. The events of TES Daggerfall lead to this (3rd era). The massive Dragon-Break at the climax. He both succeeded and failed, and both outcomes made it into reality. And I suspect that his ploy in this game (2nd era) with Molag Bal, may have very well been the seeds he planted that allowed this in the first place, as time is very wonky in ESO, coincidentally enough.

In TES Oblivion, you not only encounter him as a "mortal" Lich. You also see him at every black soul gem altar at a certain moon phase of the week. We seem him as the Sovereign, the Shade of Revenant, The Necromancer's Moon. That, is Mannimarco the God.

Given his role in other TES games, one can conclude he doesn't stay that way very long :)

I think the OP raises a good point though...

In a true RPG you'd have something of a choice. A worthwhile read, if I do say so myself.

Fair enough, but how many RPGs let you side with the antagonist? I can think of only a handful.

You can side with Mannimarco in Daggerfall, but he can't be called a primary antagonist, and he's less overtly homicidal.

No! You showed good sense. I look on this kind of thing as "catch and release", you let him go, you can play with him later. I let almost everyone go etc and my Vampire Witch is almost, not quite, pure evil.

To the lore challenged I will explain my earlier comment that Sheagorath just wants you to "enjoy the view". He does not fight with you or anyone, he simply teleports you to a point several thousand feet above Execution Point.
