should i play nightblade?

i've been trying to find a class i enjoy for awhile now to level as my main, ive tried every class and i enjoy nightblade the most.

i'm not sure if its a good idea to play one since everyone ive spoken to is talking about how broken the class is and how bad it is in pvp, which will be my main focus of the game.

is it true? will i regret my decision if i level a nightblade?

Yes, play it if you enjoy it. I have a good time in PvP with mine. If you simply want the best possible winning character it is possibly not the best.

However if you have designs on being an Emperor I don't know, I am all about the fun so someone else would need to comment.

I have played templer and sorc to vet lvl 10 and 7

i now have vet 7 nb and i love it, its the class for me and defo most fun imo i would say YES

I did the same thing. I played with the other classes and decided on Nightblade. It is a really fun class to play. They will fix the issues with it eventually, so there is that. Whatever class is the funnest to play is what you should play

All that matters is if you are enjoying playing the NB; if it becomes too frustrating you can always play another.

no i was simply asking if nightblade is unplayable due to broken skills etc

@anozeph Not really but it does help a little bit. I'm playing a Bosmer. I play Bosmer in just about all the Elder Scrolls games, and it was a plus that the racials were in bow and stealth so idk like I said before its up to you. Find a race that you like and alliance and go adventure.

Nightblade is a lot of fun both PVP and PVE.The only skill that is kind of broken is Shadow Cloak which is crap offensively and kind of junk as an escape compared to Bolt Escape for example (Which ironically is the best counter for our cloak). It does however saves my ass plenty of times. We also have a lot of really cool skills that are awesome in PVE and almost useless in PVP.
The problem now is that PVP is in many ways unplayable due to very unbalanced campaigns and really crappy dynamics brought on by hardcore pvp guilds.

you can be any class and be good, My main is a nightblade, It was just lacking the power I wanted (They are more effect at attacking from stealth). So I became a DK, and I love the power they have.

level all characters to about 20 then try the non vet campaign, it gives you a decent look at what pvp will be like.

I've already levelled a class to VR12, but it was in the wrong faction so I'm levelling the same class again and enjoying it more than the first time. Nightblade is definitely playable and enjoyable, as you said so yourself.

Racial skills help, definitely. Will it help how you play, build and itemise though, all comes down to you really, as obvious as that is.

All that said, I can't imagine you regretting your decision as you enjoy playing NB the most.

I don't care one wit what "everyone says". I play what I have the most fun with. That's why I switched from my VR 12 sorc to my NB. Sorc may be good (as "everyone says") but for me it is boring. The NB requires a lot more strategy and thought. My sorc has all the crafts so crafts for my NB.

I agree with the fun of NB and that it takes some strategy, which is what I like. Now that I'm VR 8 NB (Bosmer) I'm getting good enough to vary up my strategy just for fun and challenge. I don't care if this is not the most powerful class, I only care that it's powerful enough for me to kick some a s s and have fun with it. Fun to me is watching my character bob and weave and roll and rush in to hit, rush out of an enemy's ground effect, then rush back in at just the right moments. It really is fun and allows you to think of different strategies.

Nightblades are very fun at low levels. However, you won't enjoy your nightblade as much when you hit VR and go to Cyrodiil. Unless you initially wanted him to be in magicka-based build. Even then, I'm not sure if they are good.. Stamina-build Nightblades are for sure weak, though.

NB seems to be best dd at the moment. They are not hard to play. And of cause you will never be alone in complaining about "broken" OP skills, sorcs and other skill lines witch interrupt leading a easy life as one hit wonder.
So starting as NB isn't a bad decision. You can still concentrate on an alt later.

I play a mage-style Nightblade (light armor, magicka build, staves), and I like it. I have no problems in PVP and certainly no problems in PVE.

If you go through your entire life without ever seeking advice from people with more knowledge and experience than you, then you are just doomed to repeat their mistakes.

There is a good knowledge base on this forum, and I encourage people to make use of the collective knowledge of other players, not just plug on alone with no advice.

I have a Vet of each class. My stam nightblade is my favorite to PvP with. The rest are just simply too boring and face roll. Bow and 1h/s. Chances are when someone says nb sucks for pvp it's usually because they suck at pvp. I don't record my gameplay but here's a link to a great stamina based nightblade (Brizz).
