I stopped playing weeks ago because of RL. I won't be able to play much from now on or to keep regular hours.
This game started out as one which is not casual-friendly. You needed to bother with stuff like bank/inventory space (on your limited gaming time), needed to bother with looking for groups (instead of joining right in to play) or you couldnt get anywhere, really.

Is this still the case? Where is this game going? Is it worth subscribing again for someone like me? Or should I try out something else? the money is not the issue - I'd pay around the same amount/month on microtransactions in another game.

It hasn't changed that much in just a few weeks. I have no problem finding groups or with inventory management but others do

Do it. Its fun. There's really noone doing dungeons post 50 but pvp is alive and going. If money isn't an issue and u have fun just do it monthly.

I believe this game is actually quite casual friendly, I do everything at my own pace, often with only 1-2h of gameplay.
We do have a group finder, though I prefer asking friends and guildmates. For faster banking I would recommend this addon, it saves you a lot of time.

I am still loving the game and recently renewed my sub for another 3 months. It is up to you, I believe the game is going in the right direction but it is definitely not that "rush to the end" type of game where you get everything in a minute.

IMO if you stop enjoy the game - try something different. Maybe a liitle bit later you'll decide to come back. Who knows?
If you dont have much time - try indie games like Papers, please.

Actually if you drop the anxiety of doing everything fast and reaching endgame then this game becomes really casual friendly. If you enjoy the world and the quests and the stories then you should subscribe and support this game which gets bigger and better month after month...

It really depends on you. If you were having fun in game subscribe, it not then do not. The things you described really have not changed.

I'm a casual and have no problem with this game. I just signed up for six months. I just take my time and always have people to group with.

The game is very Casual friendly, probably the most Casual friendly MMO out there right now except Ultima & LOTRO.

You can craft top loot, can play with passer byes, don't need to raid or do dungeons to advance etc.

I play very seldom due RL too and have no issues at all.
