Quality of Life Changes I Would Like to See in the Near Future

I've /feedback'ed these, but perhaps the Devs read these forums as well. I'll state upfront that I do enjoy the game immensely and that I realize there are more pressing issues than my 'wish list' below. Some may have been mentioned before (I know one has).

1) The Inventory System. Without a doubt the worst part of the game for me is the near constant need to log onto alts after a play session and have them grab their assigned components from my always-about-to-overflow bank. It's tedious and it brings to a screeching halt my enjoyment of the game.

Suggestion: Do away with individual bags. Institute one bank for all characters on an account that can be accessed at any time, not just within the confines of the bank building. Keep the limit expansions as the needed gold sink that it is.

2) The Ability to Save Armor Sets as Costumes. Rather self explanatory, and a suggestion I made sometime back. As far as stat value the costumes would be worthless, but once one came across a signature look or two they wouldn't have to constantly recreate it with crafting, dyes, etc.

3) Quick Port to Discovered Special Crafting Stations. Just like the porting system we have now, only allow us to jump back to the crafting station of our choice. Again, the time I spend running to the crafting station every two levels is less time I am enjoying the game.

4) Pets that Do Something. Not in any way am I advocating Pay-to-Win. Pets should never influence PvP, nor do we want a world where everyone always has their pet out. But perhaps, say, the Piggie Pet, when deployed, offered a small bonus to provisioning crafting. The crab allowed a faster swim rate.

In essence: Make them more than purely aesthetic.

5) The Store. I respect that the Devs have been working hard on improving the game, but I would love to see some fluff for sale in the Store. Pets, graphic enhancements, fireworks, horse skins. Some people never spend a dime on online vanity items. I am not one of those people. I am sure I paid for many a nice dinner over the years I played The Secret World.

The caveat, again, is nothing that remotely smells of PtW. But empower those of us who enjoy deeper customization of their avatar's aesthetics and are willing to pay reasonable prices to do so.

6) Cross-Faction Dungeons. It took me 3 days to find a group for Spindleclutch despite belonging to an awesome, supportive guild. In fact I dinged level 18 upon Spindleclutch completion, so I could not have signed up for it afterwards. Many people I speak with, across all three factions, have evidenced strong support for this idea. We want to do the dungeons as our levels permit, but sometimes miss out because we cannot form a group.

7) A Faction Betrayal Quest. Some will vehemently nay-say this, but I discovered my guild after level 50, and the majority of them are in a different faction. If more cross-faction play cannot be instituted, please allow a way to switch sides.

EQ2 did this very well. The quest was hard, lengthy, and simply too much of a headache for the merely fickle. But at the end of it you truly felt you had accomplished something.

8. Barber Shop. Please allow me to change my character's looks. This could be with in-game gold or real world currency, I don't care. The emphasis I have in mind would be additional hair styles, tattoos, etc. but some might also want the ability to change names or genders.

9. Better guild store searching. I believe this is already being worked on, but the ability to search all guilds at once for an item would be incredibly nice.

10. More Titles. Far too few at the moment.

11. Optional Name Tags for PC's/NPC's. Another controversial idea, but one I would dearly love to see. It should be totally optional though for those who do not want it.

That is all I can think of for now. I appreciate the time of those who read this lengthy missive and look forward to any additional suggestions my fellow players may have.

Save for #5 and #11, I completely agree with this post. I'm looking forward to when ZOS is able to make more QOL changes.

Nice post. I'm in for the Barber Shop and Costume "signature look."

One of the nice things about this game is that there currently is no "Store". I would prefer to see it stay that way as long as possible. One thing leads to another and you start seeing "performance enhancers" and the like show up giving it a pay to win kind of thing. Otherwise not a bad list.

I'm on board with a lot of what you said, and hate to nitpick one idea, so don't think I'm in disagreement with you on most, but regarding the armor sets as costumes, I would rather they let you change the appearance of an item to match that of another, so long as it is the same armor type (light, medium, heavy), while consuming the item you want the look of.

The reason for this is because there are items that cannot be crafted, but only dropped. These styles should be earned. I also feel it wouldn't be fair in PVP to have an inaccurate visual representation of your armor type.

Other than #9, and maybe #6, I don't think I'd care about any of these.

Regarding #1, while I agree that inventory management is the most tedious and least fun in the whole game, I don't think your "one bag to rule them all" idea would help. That just seems far more messy to me. I'd much prefer simply having more space in the bags/bank we have, as well as far more options for filters and sorting items within each bag.

The only thing on this list that I could get behind is cross faction queuing for dungeons and pets being more interesting rather than useful I guess. I don't ever want a stupid pig pet to buff me for crafting or anything but it would be neat if the pets interacted with one another, did little dances or moved around making goofy noises that were more in depth than they are now. It's completely a vanity thing and really...that's all pets are or should be, vanity items. All that being said... I hate how I pay all my moneys for bank space. Q_Q. ha-ha.

#1 and #3 are the ones that most suck my will to live. At the very least, why couldn't one or more of these be offered as loyalty rewards or be unlocked via skillpoints in the World line, for example.

I would add a responsive skill bar. Not the laggy POS we have now. Why is it when I click a skill it takes a half a second to see anything? Why is it when I play a game like GW2 the skill bar is drastically more responsive by comparison to what we get?

Although not a skill bar issue but likely related, why is it when I go to deposit something in my bank, I sometimes have to click the item 2 or more times before it transfers from my inventory to my bank\guild bank?

    1) The Inventory System.

I know people are having problem with inventory management, but on a conceptual level I simply fail to understand this.

That said, yes, it annoys me that all the characters share the same bank. For me it is because I find it annoying that the only character of importance in the game is the @Player's favorite PVP character. My thought is that, eventually, you will only need one character and it will be able to fight in all Alliances and travel to all places in any Campaign.
    Mercutio wrote: »
    3) Quick Port to Discovered Special Crafting Stations.

I actually want it to be a hike to get to these places. Right now they are harder to get to so they feel special rather than just a utility location, like the bank.

    6) Cross-Faction Dungeons.

While I realize that eventually there will be no difference between any of the Alliances in the game and that players will be able to have a character that spans all alliances for PVP and PVE, I would really hate to see this.

I actually want the game to go in the opposite direction. I want there to be more division between the Alliances and less interaction between characters in different Alliances. The blurring between Alliances on the PVE side makes the whole Alliance War sort of a side show that is easily ignored.

This is just another step towards it not mattering anymore what Alliance you are in.

You do realize that after 50, your character experiences every factions zones and quests - all while STILL retaining that character's original faction.

Your friends aren't switching faction unless the icon on the far left in the Guild Roster happens to be different from your's.

If they're in another faction's zone while that faction icon on the left in the Guild Roster is the same as yours, then the zone they're in is a Veteran zone.

That being said, Paul Sage himeself said in an interview long before launch that at some point after 50, players from all factions would be able to group together and run dungeons and quest together.

As of yet I don't believe that's been implemented.

You really shouldn't be worrying about armor until vet levels. you get new armor extremely fast and in non vet It doesn't really make a difference.
