Combat Frenzy is borked.

My ultimate was up. I went to kill a player and used my ultimate as the killing blow. I killed the player. My ultimate after using it stood at 2/135 rather than 25/135.

Combat Frenzy:"Bestows an additional 25 Ultimate when killing an enemy player."

Only thing that can explain this is the KB was before.

ulti was Take flight. Its the only thing I hit him with and it killed him.

Unless I am misunderstanding how an ultimate works..the points are used once I initiate it. I pressed Take Flight..I took flight and went through the air.(I assume my points reset to 0 during this) I hit him and he died(no 25 Ult point reward)

Sounds like someone else did the killing blow, hence you don't receive the ultimate bonus.
Combat frenzy does and has always worked for me.

Is that what "killing an enemy players means"?(AKA Killing blow?) cause I hit the guy last. I got the Green announcement from my damage meter that I killed him with a killing blow. That's why I'm confused.

It seems there are different rules for different things concerning kills in PvP. If I'm grouped with my BF and he kills and nb outside of Sej while I'm inside and we both have the Kill 20 NB quests I get credit. I used to think that simply tagging them and doing DPS meant I participated in the kill of that enemy player. I would like to know from ZOS PvP devs how this works.

@ZOS_BrianWheeler ? What exactly do I need to do to insure that I receive the 25 ULT points? I've worked and leveled quite sometime to get this 25 ULT point boost for killing players and it's not working. Is it most DPS + Killing blow?..Most DPs only?

You can get the kill enemy players list completed as a healer with out touching the player(other wise healers would never finish it). It is possible to complete said quest and not do anything, so if you didnt get the ulti, someone else may have tagged it or had a dot.

So I killed him. I helped in Killing him. I didn't do the most dps. Is that what the game mechanic is going off of in order to reward the killer those points?

and if it is killing blow then I'm OK with the possibility that my addon miscalculated who hit him last. I realize it does that sometimes.

They mean getting the last hit in, as a healer I don't generate the 25 extra ulti unless I get the final blow which rarely every happens.

well as a dk with charge I'm constantly notified that I deal the killing blow. This NB must have had a dot on him but my add on told me I was the killing blow..so..I guess the add on is at fault.

My guess would be that if you use an ULT as the killing blow it just blows that 25 ULT before it even shows up. Just my guess though.

It works as intended. You get 25 ultimate for the killing blow.

Take flight doesn't charge the ultimate cost immediately. If you guys were close range, I'd expect your unstable flame, or dark talons, or fiery ring or some other dot killed the enemy while you were casting your take flight, giving you the illusion that your take flight dealt the killing blow. Your dot likely dealt the killing blow, gave you 25 ultimate, your take flight cost was taken, and you probably cast and earthen heart skill before checking your ultimate meter, giving you an extra 2 ultimate.

But combat frenzy works. It's how my dk build manages to solo in zergs without emperor, and why as emp it's so unbelievably strong.

ppl don't listen..or don't read. I didn't cast talons .I didn't cast any dots or unstable flame. I cast ONE skill as I ran to the fight. Take Flight. That skill killed the NB..That skill was credited to me by my kill counter as giving me the killing blow. That skill was the only skill credited to damage the NB on my damage meter.

Im thinking that using an ULT as the Killing Blow is wasting that 25 Ult like Sypher said.(which is a dumb mechanic)

Or take flight is a buggy skill since killing someone with standard or batswarm definitely generates 25 ultimate. So making an assumption that an ult being the killing blow doesn't generate that 25 ultimate is quite a far stretch. Also the NB ultimate definitely generates 25 ultimate as well with a killing blow.

You're analyzing based on one case. Maybe you misread your UI or something bugged out. You should try to test it again by charging your ult and killing a friend on an alt with take flight and see what happens.

Yea I just used it again in a large group and killed two ppl (killing blow)with it and the ult points were used up in the use of the actual ultimate I'm guessing.

So perhaps its "Take flight" that's borked.

Yes it's a weird skill.

Side note: you can actually snare someone who's mid flight and cause them to cancel their ult and be stuck in a gargoyle state. I'm assuming the ultimate cost isn't detracted officially server side until the ultimate lands. That delay may attribute to the 25 ultimate being consumed by the initial take flight. Hope this helps

Went ahead and tested this and got a screenshot, I can confirm it does not generate ultimate when you kill another player using Take Flight with Combat Frenzy (tested with 1/2):

Incapacitating Strike does the same thing. Consumes both the Combat Frenzy and Banish the Wicked gains. Apparently, as someone mentioned earlier, the Ult cost is charged/debited AFTER the kill, rather than when the ult was activated. There can be no mistake here, as I encountered it on numerous 1v1 situations, where no one else was around, and I used only Ambush then Incap Strike.

I now try to NOT get killing blows with my Ult, so that I can have it available for the next fight also.

It makes no sense to credit your already used ultimate. The points I receive are flushed and wasted. Please fix this ZOS

I don't believe you get Ultimate for killing someone with Ultimate abilities. Its always worked this way i believe.
