solution to the constant inventory complaints

Why don't we just go back to the old elder scrolls inventory. Give everything a weight and voila solution since. Then what items have 0 weight so no effect, pets 0 weight no effect. You go to expand your bag and it holds an extra 10 20 whatever pounds stackables weigh .01pds so 100 is 1 lb inventory problem solved and it fits es styling

Without enchantments to get your carry weight up to a super-unrealistic 900+ pounds*, people would still complain. Actually, they'll still complain anyway.

Blacksmiths and woodworkers would complain that they're being discriminated against because their raw materials are so much heavier.
    Ditto for heavy armor users.
Other players would complain because they'll have to do math (with decimal places, even!)

Not that your idea is bad, I like it: as you say, it's more realistic than the current system. Of course, there's the question of bulk as well...

But you'll get complainers no matter what system you use. It's just one facet of human nature.

*Yes, it was possible to do this -- in Oblivion to be specific. All Daedric Armor with Master Heavy Armor so armor is weightless, Feather or Fortify Strength enchantments on each piece. It got buggy over 900 pounds, but it worked ; )

But that is easy to counter just make equipped armor weigh 0, and all crafting mats are same weight. Totaling 1lb per stack. Then it's going to just be loot that really has a bearing on your inventory.

I would love a realistic carry weight system such as modded Skyrim for example. Overencumbering slows you down and at some point, you just collapse to ground unless you throw extra away.

That said, the only true solution to current inventory or bank "Problem" would be that people get over their idiotic greed and stop hoarding.

Not really in skyrim you could make epic equipped armor weightless, but feather was a short term buff not something you could really go hog wild with. Even with enchanting there was only like 3 pieces you could add it to and could double stack it. And I think it was capped at like 50 a piece for a whole 150 extra. Then there was of course deep pockets or whatever it was that have 100 and aside from str increases that about does it

The actual solutioin is to not play the game, then you don't have to worry about the horrible inventory.

See I both agree and disagree. Yes some people do have greed issues, but there is also is a large issue with to many mats. I keep only rate provisioning mats couple that with gems for grafting gear and tannins. And lastly the essence runes needed to craft enchants. That alone is about 200 items. And I don't have all creating on one character.

The biggest issue is with the research system. You have to hoard there. Because it takes so long to do the research and is sometimes hard to find some of those traits. I've leveled 3 characters into veteran ranks and even with my research always running I still have an 80 slot mule that holds the research mats and I'm still missing about 50 traits

How is that comment even remotely helpful or productive. If you hate the game so much stop trolling the forums.

At the very least can we get a tiled inventory format, I find the current one annoying.

Sure, as long as I can do what I've done first thing in pretty much every ES game. Immediately use the editor to give me a ring of carrying that lets me carry pretty much whatever.
