Grouping Tips?

I have played ESO since beta/early access. Mostly solo with grouping for delves/dungeons/world bosses/pvp mixed in. I'm currently VR8.

My wife has started playing. She has never been a gamer in general but she's a trooper and enjoys ESO.

I'm finding it difficult to progress together as a group. There's a lot of time spent trying to share quests and make sure we are in sync. Any tips on improving this, as is, not in respect to upcoming changes. Maybe there's something I'm missing? So far its been mostly frustrating. Little things...such as completing a quest but forgetting to talk to the final turn in for the xp inside a phase or instance, and not being able to get back to get the xp after exiting the area.

Any tips on how we can improve our gaming experience in ESO as a group? As is, not in respect to upcoming changes.

Travel to player. When you group always travel to player and it will put you in the same phase.

And yes they are improving the Phasing in the next content push.

My husband and I have played together since early beta events. When the game went live we leveled all the way to v12 together. We didn't have any phasing issues, you just travel to player from the group window when needed. I'd suggest not doing any quests without each other and picking the same options though.

Oh and as to the turn ins, just try to talk to each other as you're doing quests. I'm assuming you game in close proximity? Just say when you're turning something in or picking up a quest. Then compare which quests you still have active.

If you have already done the quest, and try to group with someone who has not, then phasing issues will get in your way. So, my advice would be to start a new character each, and go around as a pair accepting the same quests at the same time. This should keep the phasing issues under control.

Also, make sure your sharing the quests with the group, that will help you keep each other on the same page. It is not enough to both have the same quest.

I assume you are in the same house, hopefully in the same room when playing, so communication will be much easier than Chat or trying to set up Team Speak as others have to do.

When going through a dungeon, one of you is going to go faster than the other one. Just make sure the quicker one waits by the door for the other one to get ready to go through.

Use a higher level alt to make some decent gear for your wife's character. If she is new to gaming this will keep her alive and fighting longer until she get's her gamer legs under her. If you don't craft, ping me in the game, I have tons of low level mats to use up.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.
