Skill bar xp distribution?

So I've been wondering. I know that skills on your active skillsbar get the xp when you kill a mob or turn a quest in. But how is it distributed? If I have 4 out of 5 skills on my bar maxed out, will that 1 unmaxed skill get 5 times the xp as it normally would?

Hope I understand you correctly and in fact know the answer correctly. You gain more xp per skill line if you have more of those skills on your bar. You raise their rank per skill the more you use it and also xp for your skill line when turning in quests. This can means some skill lines rank far more slowly if only 1 or no skills actually exist on your bar.

Higher level skills per skill line also appear to rank up slower than ones you gain earlier. Even spamming the one skill over and over again ranks it up very slowly. XP turn in on quests seems to impact the skill one far more than individual skills. I end up spamming in combat those hard to rank skills. Boring but effective.

Also remember to swap weapons to the skill line you want leveled more during quest turn in. As mentioned this seems to impact the entire skill line leveling and far less per individual skill.

Someone knowing the specifics certainly can pitch in. I have not noticed xp spill over as you mention. So far individual skills appear to autonomous to whatever else is on your bar and whether they are maxed or not.
