Templars....need a one bar set up for PvP...Magica

MrHemlocks
I give up trying to swap weapons in PvP. Most weapon swaps do not happen or occur too late.

So, what would be a great survival build, VET 6, for a Templar that fits onto one bar and is best for solo PvP?

You really should run two bars... :P

If i had to pick a single bar to run on my templar, it'd be my 1h/shield one. Works great for me solo/duo.

yeah the lag drives me nuts. it take way too long to weapon swap and sometimes not at all.

unfortunately this means that I am reduced to 1 bar, and since I cant access the specialised moves on my other bar in time, I am often reduced to having to keep casting blazing shield since it has defensive and offensive capability.

the joys of Australian internet. watching some of the American players makes me jealous. the game responds so smoothly and they can swap weapons and insta cast so fast.

my critical charge takes a seconds to actually go off, and another seconds (after I have hit them on my screen) for the damage to register, and if they roll or block before the damage registers I get nothing, even though I have already hit them.

Blazing shield is your best be if you are having these issues

There are times when weapon swapping genuinely doesn't work for no reason at all.

However, sometimes people mistake mechanics for lag. You can't swap bars while dodge rolling, which is a big difference for those that are used to GW2. It will delay the swap, which will likely cause you to hit it again, which will swap you right back to the starting bar.

Also, you can't swap while cc'd. So if you are hit with any one of the various methods of stunlock currently in the game, you can't weapon swap.

You do not have the heavy armor skill....immovable. How do you live in PvP without it??? Even in solo PvP, like when running to various keeps, there always seems to be a stealthier about that will lock my character down and end the battle before I can do anything.

I dno... I used to have it but after I removed it I never really missed it. I feel just blocking and quick CC breaking if needed does the job for me.

I swap the 4th ability on my staff bar around a lot though so i might end up with it again at some point.

For a magic build I would go resto staff - [Vampires Bane - Binding Javelin - Aedric Spear - HonorTheDead - Blazing Shield]. Javelin could be switched out with something else, but I like it on my stam build.

    my pvp bars
as i have the same problems with bar switching for what ever reason the heal is quite redundant but needed on both bars.
first is my infight bar the second one my range bar. using bow for oostealth heavy attacks for the additional cc. wich resto staffs dont provide.

S&B is good, mixed with Honour the dead; invasion; blazing shield, searing flashes and inner light. Mix it with nova and you have a really good 1vX spec for choke points.

1v1 I would recommend Honour the dead; vampire's bane; dark flare; Unstable core and inner light.

Don't forget you can use abilities on your other bar first before engaging, or unstealthing. Healing ward, immovable and harness magicka are always useful, especially if you're heavy armour spec since immovable morph makes it last 50% longer.
