you need to play this campaign. if you have, play it more. I have seen MULTIPLE times, where a huge group attacking, got beat back by maybe 3-5 players(im positive it may have been less) all because of the NPCs.Frankly I'm surprised that people need to post new thread about this every other day.
But as said before, all campaigns share the NPC power level, so they can't just lower the level of NPCs as they would be lowered in all campaigns.
And I'd say that 30+ coordinated and experienced pvp players that can't take keep from 2 or 3 defenders ain't that coordinated or experienced.
You need to play it more. The reason so many large groups get beat back by smaller defender groups is that those large groups are full of inexperienced PvPers who play scared.NookyZooky wrote: »you need to play this campaign. if you have, play it more. if you managed to take a keep with less that 10 players, good for you. not everyone is that good at the game:)NookyZooky wrote: »you need to play this campaign. if you have, play it more. Oh, I'm playing in it and I have seen how 30+ players cant do anything against NPCs and one player and also less than 10 players killing NPCs and few defending players easily.
we charged upstairs when we breached a keep today. the archer guards and the mage guard killed us:/ the quick shots for nearly 1K each, combined with the powerful mage guard, with the high Dot, is pretty difficult to overcome. I don't care if you have good leadership or not. I never said it was impossible to do it..im seriously getting tired of people not reading my statements. I Never said it was impossible. But do I think the current level and power of the NPCs is ridiculous? yes. now I have been in sieges where we managed to kill the defenders, and cap the keep. but most of the time that will not happen. I would rather lose due to the players than due to the guards.driosketch wrote: »You need to play it more. Even with V5 NPPCs a dozen is more than enough players to take a undefended resource if you follow the pattern of first guards>tower mage>flag guards. But last night after taking out the tower mage I turn back and see the rest of my allies crouched in sneak mode afraid to make the first move. So I did, and we only lost 1 or 2, mostly because they took damage slowly edging into range. By the same token, I learned large groups tend to confuse the flag guards. They didn't even ready a stance when I retreated to them from a large group.
V5 NPCs aren't great, but they aren't impossible to overcome. They are such a problem because people convince themselves that they are too strong. The fact is most PvP players, on any campaign, are terrible. It doesn't matter if you have 30 coordinated players if the player directing them doesn't understand strategy, and they don't know enough not to follow bad leadership.

Yes, they are bit too powerful for non-vet campaign. However, if they would be level 50, we would see a lot night capping as you would just need handful of capable players to take everything when enemy sleeps.
And again, current server structure apparently mirrors all pvp servers, so they can't lower level of NPCs on one server alone without making huge structural changes on how pvp servers are run.
They might buff battle leveling more as that is something that is easy to do. Though it affects all servers also, so non-vets in open for all campaigns will be more powerful if they do that. So they need to be careful to not buff it too much, as we might end up into situation where battle leveled level 40 will be more powerful than vr1.
