I play because I enjoy Horizontal Advancement when I reach the top. I despise constant Vertical Grinding to keep chasing the carrot.

    THIS!!

The Champion System should have rewarded Champion Points based off of achievements and feats earned through excelling at end game content not grinding your life away vs mobs in order to stay competitive. This system is uncreative and is a great example of extremely lazy system design. Yes, you should be embarrassed

FALSE, for some maybe for others the constant carrot dangle is a turn off as it shows a lack of imagination.

I want my hard work to hold value.
I really don't care at all about gear. My joy comes from exploring and doing new quests. When I eventually finish that, I'm just going to wait for new content to explore. Chasing gear and grinding is a no for me.

Awards for the most clueless poll....to advance doesn't that usually mean better gear? So options 1 and 2 seem mirrored....and since there's only 1 other option that assumable means easy distracted...pretty much sums up the whole mentality of the op.
Did you actually spend time thinking about this....or do you live in Colorado and ran out of munchies????

This poll is under the wrong assumption that new gear automatically make old gear lose value.

I didn't go into the math, but the increase between vr 12 and vr14 is marginal.

    Our gear is holding value.

But we need long term goals to keep us interested in the game, and as this isn't a sandbox, levels and gear is the best we can have.

So it's all a matter of finding a good ballance. And I like the one in eso. You can upgrade your gear and keep it for a good while, or change often with lower quality at your level.

I like the idea behind seasonal gear and champion points.

I miss the old days in games like SWG where your character actually was fun to play, and important to a group in getting things done. You ended up role playing without having to do so on purpose. In every game I have played with very few exceptions I feel like all was for not when I get the top tier gear. Then they release new gear or increase levels and I get that "what's the point" feeling and move on. In the traditional sandbox games when you hit the level cap and get the gear you want the game began. Release new content and increase the other aspects in mmo's other than gear grinding with a slew of Leroy Jenkins' and you will have a great game. Chasing the carrot seems fulfilling but eventually the donkey dies of exhaustion and carrots Taste like #*[email protected] anyways...

About as much time as you did, only I don't struggle with simple concepts like you.
