Update 4: What's Your Opinion?

So, I just watched the video previewing update 4, and I have to say I am honestly impressed.

My two cents on this:

I really am looking forward to the Dragonstar Arena. Why? Because the arena can finally make me live my dreams of being a "Captain of the Arena Team."

Normally, when I want to pretend to be an arena captain, I'm forced to go on to Youtube and watch those bad "interactive" videos that puts you in the captains seat, but takes away the fun and the drama between matches.

So far, the only thing I've accomplished that would even compare to being an arena team captain is earning "Captain of the Horde" at 5 years old for winning dozens of matches in a certain time frame. I don't even play WoW anymore.

This update will allow me to finally step into the drivers seat...although I can't kill a person to save my life in PvP.

The only thing that is bad in my eyes is the fact that they are adding new delves...problem is, I've heard that delves can cause crashes in semi-rare cases (about 1 in 120 cases)...or maybe that's just me and I've fallen asleep.

That's my two cents about this update...what's your opinion?

Nothing in update 4 interests me. After they teased all that cool stuff at quakecon, I feel like they [snip] in my mouth. Actually, now that I thing about it, ZOS [snip] on their fanbase is a pretty regular thing.

I'll reserve judgement but, at the moment, with all the proposed changes to VR I'm just not motivated to do any VR content, think I'd rather wait for the changes to be made.

Hah Judge Judy rolling her eyes never gets old!

The Dragonstar Arena things sounds interesting. But I'm not even to Veteran levels yet so by the time I get to Craglorn, the Champion system will be implemented anyway. Heh.

The current trials are boring now so i'm looking forward to it. More group content is always good.

I don't know why people expected the justice system and stuff to be in game this soon when they said it wouldn't. I guess that's why most devs don't tell you that far ahead because people can't get excited for updates while they wait for that juicy content.

I honestly wish they had not announced it because I think more people would be excited for this patch. more things to do/endgame? isn't that what the game needs?



Did anyone HONESTLY think all that stuff would come in patch 4 in just a few months after the game is released?

Seems nice, I expect to be vr 12 later today, for the first time although I've been playing since early access. I will just have to finish AD or at least Craglorn and see some trials till then.

It'll be a while before I get to that content (considering I'm leveling 16 characters I'm pretty proud that I've hit VR with my main at all, but he's not ready for Craglorn yet), so the announcement doesn't excite me much. Having said that, new content is a good thing, and I like the idea of more delves and the arena. I'll get to that content eventually, and when I do I'm sure I'll be glad that it's there.

My opinion is update 4 is irrelevant to the longevity of the IP...and that's putting it nicely.

Players want the crime system
Players want the Imperial City
Players want the Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild
Players want Spell Crafting
Players want the Champion system
Players want a smooth running, optimized, relatively bug free, and mechanically balanced game

Craglorn 2.0? Who gives a ***... I'm literally only looking forward to the patch notes to see improvements to Stamina builds and skill changes.

I want more Craglorn. I'm having a great time doing challenging content in groups and looking forward to having more things to do.
So update 4 looks promising to me.

It's going to take you 6 months to get to craglorn??? Wow when people say they play slow I never knew they meant they gain no xp days on end.....

As it is taking me for ever to hit Vet 12 I don't really care.

I don't raid. And due to the way things are made in the game, being able to group for questing takes a toll on many players.

Because of how the world changes after each quest trying to organize a way to quest with friends you must do every quest in the same order at the same time. Don't get me started on the main quest bosses.

You mean that overwhelmingly the people that are not happy about something are the ones coming to voice there opinion about it? Like everything that ever was especially in videogame/mmo forums?

If you took one looked at WoW forums a few years ago you would have thought everyone in the world hated the game and it was going to fail hard.


This seems like its mostly just the solo fringe that are playing group games solo for some reason that are upset. I think there should be repeatable solo content to do between grouping but an entire zone? that you will clear in less than a day? You would be happy for like 5 hours then go right back to complaining.

More group-oriented Craglorn type stuff that no one ever does, or spends three hours trying to get a group to do just to find the long quest chain requires everyone to be on the same stage not to get phased.

I don't know enough about the arena to comment. I liked it well enough in Oblivion.

Nothing really for the solo quest/RP/dungeon/PVE crowd that makes up the bulk of the player base so yeah...

The "arena" better be very resistant to AoE and i do mean VERY, otherwise it's trials, dresses and sticks all over again.
