In all honesty, I think having the option to hide specific armor pieces (especially shoulders) would be great. How do you all feel?

Yes, I'd like the option to be able to hide whatever I wanted, even if I do or don't plan to use it.

Shoulders and those faulds are the only things I dislike.

And even shoulders is problematic, with light armour it covers the top half of your chest, hiding that would probably be silly.

Only shoulders, I am currently wearing 2 bird heads on my shoulders which looks wrong with full Breton armor. Besides, I don't want 2000 people running naked around town!

I think it should stay as is. I don't want to be questing seeing a bunch of people running around in the underwear (it's bad enough in the cities).

I have a question, if a player chooses to hide his helmet, is it also hidden on my screen or just his? If it is indeed hidden on my screen too, i do not like it. As i want to see what armour people have on. If it's only for their screen then i am fine with it.

I only ask because i have never used it my self and i see many players without helmets.

Historically, the whole reason behind hiding the helmet was because players wanted to show their faces. Sure, other armor items could be included, but for no real justifiable purpose. So why bother?

If somebody has their helmet hidden it is hidden for everyone. The reason for this is because some people take pride in how they designed their character and want to show it, and don't want to be having to swap their helmet off and on every time they hang out in town for awhile.

Also, some people, myself included, just really dislike how helmets look and don't want to have to look at them.

I was actually just think about this. In partial answer to this I think there should be a system to create custom costume sets.

It would require a minimum of three pieces and pants/robe. This way if they were to also add the hide shoulders, at the very least you would have to have on pants (meaning the rest of the costume is a helm and shoulder piece that are hidden) if you're running around with full armor stats still. This would also fullfil my desire to have a specific armor set that is always going to be the styles I want and from my favorite tier of material while being able to have increased stats of higher tier gear/ higher lvl drops. (see my thread here.

I'm all for the option to choose. Although I'd like to be able to disable seeing a bunch of naked nord and orc men running around LOL. So maybe some sort of compromise.... disabling it for helms is left as is and shoulders would work the same as helms, but the rest of the armor would only show for "you" not everyone else OR people could at least have an option to view others as per their settings or not (minus helms/shoulders as those should be able to be hidden regardless). Maybe that sounds a bit complex but really it isn't.

I'd rather they leave it how it is, since everyone's going to be naked half the time, but then if you have the option can't do much harm. I've done dungeon runs with allies as skeletons.

What I want is an option to get rid of the (mostly) naked people on my screen. If they want to have their clothes off on their screen, that's their business. I should not be forced to look at it. It ruins the immersion and looks silly. Give me an option to put some kind of clothes on those people. Thanks.

Should be able hide everything, though perhaps should have to have either chest or legs showing.

If guys (or gals) want to go for that barechested conan look, go for it. If a gal (or guy) wants to go for that super mini skirt look that would be possible with some of the top armors "faulding", works for me.

That said, and I've said this elsewhere, I think they blew it when they mostly made the different racial styles practically just different textures. They could have had some bottoms be more roman "skirt" like, some be more kilt like, some be more short like, etc.

    this is that "other" vote...

I would like to see the option to hide Boots, Gloves and Shoulder armor along with the head armor... not that I would necessarily hide any of it...

For those that remember the armor in Morrowind, Khajiit and Argonians do not wear footwear, but in a game like ESO, the loss of that armor would be a severe disadvantage, but hiding the boots would be more lore appropriate.

In the case of Shoulders and Gloves, hiding them is just an affectation that some may like because of the look they wish to portray without giving up the advantage of having those armor pieces...

Additionally, I would like to see both Player-made costumes (Advanced Tailoring perhaps) and costumes that could be purchased from Vendors... my idea being that a costume would follow the motifs in some way, granting 14 different styles, I don't think they should have traits, but the better the material, the richer the costume will look... Jute Costumes would look like Homeless People, Beggars, Refugees, Outcasts or Slaves, Shadowspun Costumes would look like Royalty but all will be level 1 so they can be used by anyone.
Of all the things I have lost, I miss my mind the most...
