how a guy can block ALL hit in 360? Put the block only at 180 in front arch.

put a stam decrease or like with stealth, a zero regen when blocking.

    Um, blocking drains stamina and if you have none...you take a big hit even if you block.

    I agree with the 360 is stupid though.

    I think the 2H skill line should have a block breaker ability, otherwise the block system is really not that bad. it only gets ridiculous when you face a DK spamming green dragons blood with it, otherwise just hit them with light attacks and drain their stamina

    I think some abilities need readjusting, but I don't believe they need any buffs. I witnessed one DK take on an entire group in chillrend last time I played. and he did it constantly.

    Only if they do the same for ranged weapons.

    Right now, you can get a softlock on a mob/player and turn 180 degrees and you'll fire out your back.

    Damn i hate noob weapon.

    Another rant coming from a pvp perspective, did you take a moment to think how would this affect tanking in dungeons? I guess not, because someone with sword and shield pummeled you to the ground. Well, good luck trying to block 7 enemies, sometimes including a boss, with only 180 degrees.

    there are many things that's not logic here. For example, i can pull a person 15 metres away using dragon knight chain skill, but i can't see someone crouching 10 metres in front of me...uhhh logic where did you go again??

    I would like certain skill lines to have block breakers(Two handed in particular) but you cant take out this 360 degree blocking mechanic. I agree, its stupid, but If a tank cant block in a full circle, they wont be able to tank in dungeons.

    They'll till be able to Block, they just have to think while doing it, positioning etc.

    in other games, Tanks actually had Mitigation worth a damn.
    in ESO, its Blocking or dead.

    Most of the people that want it reduced to 180 do not use sword and shield, and have never tanked a veteran dungeon before. They don't know that a heavy attack from the large melee enemies can literary one shot you. Without having a mass taunt, you would end up having to keep an eye on each and every enemy, plus, watch out for those heavy attacks...

    I think people don't really think through their observations when looking at a game. You do realize that games like this are abstractions.

    Tamriel is the largest continent on the planet Nirn. If you compared it to real life, it would be about the size of Asia, but in the game you can ride a horse across the game map in a couple of days game time. The cities would have tens of thousands of people; instead, you see maybe a hundred or fewer NPCs.

    In real life, you cannot block in 360 degrees. In the game, you can. Why? Because it is an abstraction. If you translated a battle with 3 bandits to the real world, it would be as if you were battling 300+ bandits. And instead of the battle lasting less than a minute, it would take hours. (This is why many of the NPCs are amazed at your battle prowess.)

    Or if this makes you feel better, think of your shield as being "magickal". We have talking crows, sticks that shoot fire, cat and lizard people who carry a decent conversation, and gems that turn you into a skeleton or goblin

    Take away the 360 shield protection when an enemy player cannot run through you to hit you from the back side. Because that is what will happen, and blocking will become pointless.

    that could work. as long as tanks can still block full 360 in dungeons. I have used a tank for a few dungeons, and there are many times I would have died if not for the full 360 block. and usually, if the tank dies, everyone else is fudged.

    Though it would be nice if sneak attacks were unblockable, would make using mark target a lot easier. :)

    In real life, you cannot block in 360 degrees. In the game, you can. Why? Because it is an abstraction.

    Yes it's a computer game with magic and crap. But there are certain bits of expected reality that we tend to expect. Like gravity. Like not being able to see through walls. Fire burns. Ice freezes and not the other way around. It just gets coded into the game, so we aren't just all floating around in space.

    Blocking in 360 just isn't plausible. Maybe if it was magical blocking or something. However, it is in by design. Could they remove it? Sure! I think they ought to. Positional awareness should mean more in this game.

    I also think armor mitigation should mean more in this game also. Holding down the block key and occasionally casting an ability/taunt through it, shouldn't be all there is to it.

    Tanking in this game is some of the easiest I've seen in an MMO. You don't even need a tank most of the time anyway.

    Agree 360 degrees blocking is r3tard. Getting to 180 will add more depth in this game and positioning will mean something ...
