ok so scheduled maintenance has just finished for NA and my client is re-downloading ESO is this normal after maintenance? If so is there a way to fix this in future because this download will not finish till sometime tomorrow.

Maximis_ESO✭✭✭✭It is not normal to download the client again. However, the patch is several gigs and so that may take some time. I don't know of a way to fix it but I know that it has happened to me before in the past.5 -

Major content updates are several weeks or even months apart. Typical patches are much smaller, and will complete much quicker. Even for the bandwidth impaired, (as you appear to be at the moment) regular patches should take minutes, not hours.
