Euro Server lag

Can I just ask what is it with these huge lag spikes on the server? I am almost completely done with this game now. I get killed constantly by the game freezing mid fight. Seems totally pointless to try to enjoy this right now.

Been a lot of people reporting this since the servers moved to Germany, inside and outside of PVP.
I guess we should have all been happy it was stable in the US and left it their. :P

I actually found it much more playable when it was on the US server. Now theres a 10-20 sec spike every 2-5 minutes.
P2P offered you 'hell yeah!' moments. F2P offers you 'thank god its over' moments.

Just had to force quit the game, in Auridon I got three huge lag spikes and others did too as chat lit up, the fourth lag spike lasted that long I had to quit the game.

In between these lag spikes the games much more responsive but there a rabbit away somewhere.

I'll probably find my char is dead when I log back in :(

Edit to add: yup, dead when I logged back in :(

It's not quite this bad for me, but I have noticed slight delays in responsiveness when interacting with items, using skills, basically doing anything. Not constant but noticeable when it happens.

With the time Zeni had to prepare this move it sure went terrible. I have massive lag spikes lasting 10-20 seconds at times, makes fights really great....

I had this a lot yesterday, but I'm getting significantly less lag spikes today - only a couple.

The lag spikes and freezing is troublesome.

I have to ask myself, however, where all the people are who bayed for blood, wanting the migration to be done in the first place. You know, those you threatened to quit over the EU server being in the US, the resignation of whoever had been responsible for the EU server to be in the US to begin with and those you just acted like puerile children looking for anything to latch onto to complain about - a.k.a. a very vocal minority.

I'm not defending or attacking anyone, I would just like to know.

A lot of players wanted this migration so badly, and this is the consequence.

It's the consequence of the migration done badly, not migrating in and of itself.

I wanted the migration, and things for me are now a lot better. I played all weekend and had 1 lag spike yesterday that did not last long. The rest of the time things worked well. I can weapon swap and fire abilities off with the first key press! That never worked for me while the server was in the US.

I am sure there are a few kinks to be sorted out still but am trusting ZOS is on the job figuring it out.

I still think that moving the server to Europe was a good idea. However, moving it to a new data center without a stress test was a bad idea, and I am surprised and disappointed they tried to pull that off.

Between lag spikes, the game is much more responsive and playable with the server on my side of the Atlantic, so I'm hoping for the problems to be sorted out. I would like to continue playing the game with a low ping. Dodging, blocking and general combat timing is so much easier now. When the server connection doesn't act up, that is.

Well. The first night after the server move, I had my best experience ever in ESO. With no lag what so ever. After that it's been horrible. The server cluster seems to be on the weak side.
Add PvP loot drops for some risk/reward in this game.

I'm not terribly surprised - I'd say that once the decision had been made to move the servers without fully testing them it was inevitable that there would be some teething problems. Overall, I've been pleasantly surprised by the absence of any more fundamental interruptions.

To be fair to ZOS, I do wonder, had they opted for fully testing the new servers, whether they would have actually got enough people onto the test to make it worthwhile and meaningful: it's entirely possible (in fact I suspect probable) that they wouldn't - it's not, after all, like beta, where the real game is unavailable.

So long as they get the issue fixed - and they have acknowledged that there is an issue - promptly, then I will overall be pretty impressed by the process. Of course, that is a pretty important 'if'....
