3.1 Armor Set Changes - Worth crafting a new set? Need advice.

Hi everyone,

At level 42 I crafted a nice Willow / Nightmother set. I'm now V4 and was going to craft a new Willow / Nightmother set based on the new 3.1 changes where Willow becomes 4% crit instead of 5%. That's ok with me once it does change.

Anyway, am I going to see a big difference in stats from level 42 to V4? The set bonuses are the same (for now until 3.1 goes live) and the glyphs will be the same. Is it worth crafting a new set just for a slight increase in armor? This is a Light Armor set for a Sorcerer. Is there anything else that will change from a level 42 set to V4 set besides more armor?

Just looking for advice. I

Thanks.

usualy it just boosts the stats, also of the glymp. if you use a health glymp on it then it will have more healt, if the glymp is big enough. so you could put more boost on it concearning health magica and stamina. I think weather you change it or not the update 3 will change the set you have, new or old, so that shoudn't be anything to hold you back.

Have you seriously not upgraded your gear in 12 levels?

The armor and stats you would get from it even without the changes would warrant another set. Every level brings higher softcaps that you need to put into account.

I'm hitting caps with food and upgraded my weapon with the level 42 purple armor and purple glyphs. Haven't really noticed a difference and can still take on 3 or so mobs fairly easy.

What I normally do is this:

Level 4: Equip my level 4 gear with traits/enchants.
Level 20: Equip my level 20 gear with traits/echants.
VR 1: Equip my level VR1 gear with traits/enchants.
    VR12: Equip my VR12 gear.

Every 8-12 levels I upgrade my jewelry for the nice jewelry enchants.
every 6 levels I upgrade my weapons.

I do this and blow through all content.

Thanks, that sounds about what I was planning. New set now at VR4, then wait until VR12 for a legendary set.

I wore VR1 gear through VR12. Was leveling so fast I had no intention of wasting mats to upgrade for no good reason.

OP - If you're VR4 I'd consider re-doing all of your gear, don't legendary it but maybe green/blue, + enchants, and see how much of a dif it makes. I wouldn't make another set until 1.3 comes out.

So my practice of giving all 4 of my fighters new gear every 2nd level is unusual. All green with some blue, usually weapons. I keep my son's char in gear now as well.

They kill and maim well above their level. My silly vampire witch is almost impossible to kill. Perhaps soft capping her armor with all light and medium when the fire is not too bad, and running massive fire resist when it is, has something to do with it.

My son, the VR3 NB, is running several sets and jewelery appropriate to his use. He was always a good fighter but now he is much better equipped and it does make quite a difference.

If you're doing ok on content at your leveI I see no reason to upgrade just for the hell of it, but my NB most definitely could tell the difference. Then again she was equally split HP/Stam/Mana.

I only upgrade to blue/green and craft my own gear so that is something to factor into as well.
