Over the years I have played all the Elder Scroll games starting with Arena. As I mentioned in a recent post here, I like to play games my way. And so I did with
Arena up through Skyrim. Over those same years I also played MMORPG's starting with "Island of Kesmai" on Compuserve (although you could drop the first M on that one). When you play a stand alone game on you computer you are alone. If you accomplish something, all you have is the four walls to witness it: "Hey, four walls, did you see what I did? Wasn't that neat?" They don't answer. They are just walls. In MMO's you have real people around you. Oh sure, they aren't all friendly. But many of them are really fun to be around. I still remember some of the players in Kesmai, like Porphory...Cure, Kaltorax...wind (my guild leader) and neighborhood friends like Kruhljak...wind.
Regardless of how I feel about how the gameplay in ESO stacks up vs Skyrim & etc., the addition of other players with the retention of the ability for me to play my own style of play makes ESO much better (in my humble opinion) than its predecessors.
