ZoS seem to be determined to remove CC from the game

Just saw this in the 1.3 patch notes on the PTS forum

•Immunity granted by Break Free and the immunity given to you after you’re hit by a crowd control ability now provide immunity to all types of crowd control.

Ok so I can understand why this might be an issue in PvP. Lots of people firing off lots of different types of CC can mean you are stun locked.

But again this is a change that is meant to help PvP but is very damaging to PvE.
Having CC's on you bar to be able to lock down a mob has a cost. Its taking up slots on your bar but if it gives you the ability to follow up say a stun with a root or a slow its often worth it. This is just removing another level of depth to the PvE combat to cater for PvP.

If they limit cc immunity to players only, there won't be an issue. Mobs don't need CC immunity...

Mobs have break free. But now you can still CC them again with a different CC. In 1.3 they will be immune to all once they break free.

Hmmm. It just occured to me that I haven't seen a mob break free in 2-3 weeks while playing. Maybe just the zones I've been in :|

This change is limited to PVP ONLY. Seriously, it won't effect how you play your game in PvE, except Named/bosses which has always been the way. Bosses tend to be immune to all forms of CC anyway.

This needs to be limited to players only, yes.

    Talk is cheap.
Source, or it is nothing more then your asumption, your misinterpretation or intentionally made up to cause pointless discussions. Neither of those three are helpfull for the game development.

Show us where it explicitly states those changes will affect PvE. Because just reading it I never doubted for a second it meant PvP only.

Edit: Actually after re-reading it seems clear the Player side of any combat is meant. So you (the player) will not have to break out as often in PvE and PvP, while the monsters are still as subject (or not subject) as they ever were.
Sounds like a good idea for me. Repeated Breakout was a relevant Stamina Drain and thus limiation for Stam based DPS builds.

Seriously, why does everyone have to resort to aggression and insults whenever anyone makes a point?

OK remember these patch notes in 1.2.3

•Automatic crowd-control immunity and crowd-control break immunity will now protect you from the same types of crowd-control.

Nothing there would indicate that it also applied to NPC's but it did. 2 handed mobs were later hotfixed so they didn't but you still couldn't spam say volcanic rune and get repeated bouncing and stun effects (something that was being used in dungeons to chain bounce/stun mobs). This is still the case but these changes are saying that once any CC has been cast then whoever you cast it on will be immune to all forms of CC not just the one you used.

It very well might be just players but with 1.2.3 in mind I wouldn't be surprised if its all targets.

And currently we are in 1.2.6. Is it still the case?
Is it the case on the PTS of as of right now?
Are the PTS patch notes not explicitly mentioning they are not final/fully written out?
Were the mobs perhaps always intended to be immune to (repeated) CC, because it made them too easy?

If that is all you got, "ZoS seem to be determined to remove CC from the game" is nothing more then a asumption.
And not even one with very solid logic behind it.

I remember reading some PTS players complaining about the break free being applied to mobs as well, and it's very annoying. Can't find it though :(
People keep telling me they're gonna buy me an ale. They never do.

There are only two things I can't stand in this world. People who are intolerant of other people's culture. And the Elves.

I think they have a lot of trouble having separate systems for players and mobs. But you have to question why 2handed mobs even had the animation programed if it was never intended.
