.. and it's not just to do with some stupid vanity pet (I mean, seriously, of all the things to p*ss people off with...). The monkeys are annoying enough as it is...
It's not just to do with 'grindy' endgame or imbalanced mid-game.
It's not just to do with the desperately UP Nightblade class (although no Assassins or Thieves Guilds AND sh*t skills compared to other classes - yeah, thanks for that, ZOS)
It's not just to do with the flaky instancing which leaves the banks and crafting stations full of half-naked toons obscuring the targets and standing around like dogging spectators.
Or the instancing that means the crafting items that I put skill points into the Keen Eye abilities to spot get griefed out from under me by VETERAN players
It's not just to do with the broken grouping system, which has so far prevented me from being able to complete ANY group dungeons, because nobody at (or close to) my level is available.
It's not just to do with single player quests I can't complete due to bugs that have been around since April
It's not just the refusal to answer the simplest of questions regarding the console versions (which were originally scheduled for last month after all)
It's not just my own question - 'Will there be character transfers be available for console in general, or is it just those who signed up in June?' - getting completely ignored, despite being addressed directly to community support personnel (who could at least have bothered to say 'I don't know').
It's not just that there seems to be NO FIXED WAY to get your support queries answered, other than sheer blind luck (or possibly favoritism, who the hell knows?)
And it's not just that I know this post will get lost among the hundreds upon hundreds of aggrieved postings on here, because it seems the complaints are increasing and not going away.
It's all of these things and more than I have the strength to type about.
I love The Elder Scrolls, and have looked forward to this game since the E3 2013 reveal, and I've had some fun playing TESO, but at the moment there is just too much WRONG with the game to justify paying my subscription. I would seriously consider doing it if I could carry characters over from PC to console (where hopefully a better game would emerge), but at the moment I've had no answer as to whether I can do that and we're not even getting any assurances that the console versions even WILL happen, let alone WHEN they will (otherwise why the complete silence)?
So do I carry on paying subs for a game broken in too many ways to mention purely on the strength of a feature that may not happen on a format that may not happen or in the very least may not happen any time in the next six months?
No, I don't.
So I'll play the next 10 days out, be thankful that I got a REALLY good discount on the download and upgrade codes and then maybe, MAYBE see you when (if?) the console versions launch (although if the garbage I've seen so far persists for another 4-6 months, I 'm more likely just to cancel my boxed Imperial edition and give up completely).
I waited for this game. I rooted for this game. I even defended the subscription model for this game based on the belief that it would be borne out through the quality of it.
Congratulations ZOS, you've made a non-believer of me....
